For the eighth time and after a brief absence, Section Five Lacrosse leadership has selected first, second and honorable mention lists of All-Section players. The 2023 first team lists fifteen players and includes the six All-Americans previously announced. "It`s always difficult to choose from so many talented players," said Section Five Chairman, Mike Simon.

*+Having punched their tickets in the semi-finals, the first Championship Day is set for Tuesday. Honeoye Falls-Lima, the top seeded team will play #3 Wayne to open the night starting at 5:00 PM. The second game will feature top seeded Pittsford who will play #2 McQuaid Jesuit at 7:30PM.

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - In the Class A semi-finals, the top two seeds advanced to the championship round as Pittsford beat Hilton and McQuaid Jesuit defeated Penfield. In the Class C tournament, top-seeded HFL won their game with Geneva and #4 Wayne beat second seeded Pal-Mac 12-5.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were seven quarterfinal games today and in Class C the seeds held with Geneva, Pal-Mac and Wayne all advancing to the semi-finals on Friday at Canandaigua. In Class A Hilton #5 won their game with Rush-Henrietta #4 so the Cadets will advance with Pittsford, McQuaid and Penfield.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - A four goal streak gave the Knights a 7-6 win over visiting Fairport. HF-L had a big win against Rush-Henrietta. Penfield beat Hilton and Canandaigua, in yet another low scoring game was the 3-2 winner at Thomas. The Saints had and exciting 9-8 win at Greece and Gananda won a 15-13 game against Kearney.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were fourteen games played and it was the last game of the regular season for some teams. The Blue Panthers held off a fourth quarter surge by the Pride and held on for the 13-12 win. Aquinas, likewise held off a last quarter surge by the Lakers, winning 12-10 and locking up the GRALL title. Thomas won the battle at Webster and Penn Yan had a shutout against Clarence.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - It took overtime after seven ties for the Rangers to beat McQuaid Jesuit 10-9. Brighton scored first and never looked back as they beat Aquinas 11-8. An unmatched goal in the fourth quarter was one goal less than the Saints needed as Livonia-Avon won 8-7. Penn Yan has an overtime loss against a strong Lake Shore team from Buffalo and Schroeder held the Hawks scoreless in three quarters for their 5-3 win in Corning.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Both Fairport and Penfield won their games by one goal. Mynderse defeated the Pride 9-6 and the rest were mismatches. Hilton (8-6) defeated HFL (10-3) with a score of 15-8 and Wayne defeated Pal-Mac 13-12.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Gates Chili held off a fourth quarter surge by Brockport to win their second game of the season. The other nine games were mismatches. Winners included Pittsford over Brighton, Wayne over Marcus Whitman and Irondequoit over Fairport.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - In a very close game throughout, Thomas was a one goal winner over visiting Irondequoit. Pittsford had a close win over Spencerport, Victor had a close win at Brighton and Pal-Mac defeated Geneva 8-6.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Out of the fourteen games played today, ten were mismatches. The others include a come from behind win for Mynderse in their game with Newark. Pittsford had an 8-2 win over Thomas and Schroeder beat Hilton 10-6. The Waterloo team did not have enough players for their game with Geneva and in the closest game of the night, Irondequoit took a 12-11 victory at Churchville-Chili.    BOX SCORE] 

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Once again, there were many mismatches, but there were also some really good games. In the game of the last two unbeaten teams, Canandaigua (9-0) was the last team standing but the Cougars had a strong second half at both ends of the field. Senior A/M Jett Richardsen scored the overtime, game-winning goal for the Royal Comets in this game that could not have been closer with eight ties. Greece took an early lead and held on for their one goal win.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Victor has a statement game with their 16-11 win over visiting JD. Irondequoit defeated Hilton, and McQuaid beat Brighton.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Although the majority of games ended in mismatches, there were a couple of exciting games. Topping the list is Canandaigua's 4-3 win at Brighton where neither team scored in the second half. Pittsford took an early lead and then never gave it up in the 8-6 win over visiting Irondequoit and Spencerport held Fairport scoreless in two quarters in their 7-3 win at home. Penfield scored four unanswered goals in the first quarter and then coasted to their 11-7 win over visiting Schroeder.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Tere were a dozen games played today and most were mismatches, Canandaigua beat Penn Yan by a single goal and Victor beat Niskayuna 15-7. West Genesee edged out Penfield by one goa (13-12) and Mynderse posted a shutout at Waterloo. Other local winners were Irondequoit, Pal-Mac, Schroeder, Fairport, Geneva, Spencerport, and Marcus Whitman.

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - In the single game played on the first day back from vacation, Wayne took off in the second half and beat Geneva 10-7.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were five games played today and two were very exciting ones. Penfield came from behind to win their game with Irondequoit in overtime and Fairport used three goals in the last stanza to defeat West Genesee. Hilton was a winner over visiting Wayne and Schroeder and Pittsford lost to Section III team.

Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: In the first minute of the game Victor scored two goals against Fairport and cruised to a 19-2 win at Fairport in their season opener.  Sam Ricci dominated at the faceoff X, winning 16 of 17 (94%). Marcus Whitman won their first game of the season in a good game with Gananda. A couple of goals before the half was the difference as Livonia-Avon defeated Pal-Mac 8-6. Other winners, most in not so close games were Wayne, Aquinas, Pittsford, Irondequoit and Thomas.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were seven games today as the regular season is almost done. Most games were mismatches, but Greece had an 8-6 win over Newark and Penfield had a win over Irondequoit.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Thirteen games were played and topping the list was Spencerport who played three overtime periods for their win at Rush-Henrietta. Pittsford defeated CA 7-2 and Gananda had a 9-8 win over Mynderse.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Batavia-Notre Dame celebrated Senior Day with their first win since 2017. Hilton scored in the last two minutes of the game with Schroeder. Brighton won their game with HF-L and the Pride had a 9-8 win over Midlakes-Red Jacket.

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Canandaigua bumped their record to 11-4 with their win over Penfield. Mynderse was a 10-5 winner over visiting Bishop Kearney and Wayne defeated Gananda, boosting their record to 10-3.

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Livonia-Avon and Wayne won today.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - There were a dozen games played on Saturday and several close ones. Newark beat East in OT, Brighton beat Geneva by one, HF-L held on for a 5-4 with against the Lakers, and Pittsford had a 5-3 win over Hamburg.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Hilton won their overtime game with Churchville-Chili and McQuaid won their 8-7 game with Spencerport.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Most of the fourteen games played today were blowouts, but the Fairport 6-Penfield 4 game was a good one.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Junior attackman Drew Smith scored his third goal in overtime to give Gananda an 11-10 win at Sweet Home (Section VI). Victor scored four goals in the last quarter for their 9-5 win over Brother Rice (Michigan).

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Penn Yan beat Geneva 8-6 and Comsewogue (Sect XI) defeated Penfield 8-6, but the rest of the games today were mismatches.

Friday: DAY IN REVIEW: The Class C and D semifinals have been played and the Championship matchup are set. Pal-Mac (#4) took out Marcus Whitman (#2) and Honeoye Falls-Lima (#3) took out Geneva (#2), but the top seeds won their games. Penn Yan (#1) defeated Haverling (#4) and Livonia-Avon (#1) defeated Wayne (#4). On Monday it will be Pal-Mac at Penn Yan and HF-L at Livonia-Avon for the brick.

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: It was the last day in the regular season and six games were played. It was Canandaigua over Penn Yan 9-3 and so for 2021 there are no undefeated teams. Gananda travelled to Medina for a 19-12 win. HF-L had a 14-10 win against Schroeder and Hilton surprised Spencerport with a 13-12 win. Tournament seeding will take place late Saturday or early Sunday.

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: There were just three games in the section today. Livonia beat Wayne despite a strong comeback. McQuaid Jesuit beat Webster Schroeder and Bloomfield-Honeoye was a 14-3 winner over Batavia.

Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: A nine goal second quarter led to a 12-2 half as Spencerport (7-0) posted an 18-4 win for the Rangers over Aquinas this afternoon. Connor Mesh had 3g-3a and won 13/14 (94%) faceoffs and Justin Schnauber added 2g-3a for Spencerport. 

Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: In what may be one of the best first halves of the day, Wayne defeated their hosts, Aquinas 10-7 after six lead changes. The two teams exchanged scoring throughout the first and second quarters and were 6-6 at the half.

Friday: DAY IN REVIEW: In a rainy-muddy game played on Friday afternoon, Marcus Whitman's Ryan Herod scored the game winning goal with 0:08 left on the clock to give the Wildcats an 8-7 win over Wayne.

In a rainy-muddy game played on Thursday afternoon, Marcus Whitman’s Ryan Herod scored the game winning goal with 0:08 left on the clock to give the Wildcats an 8-7 win over Wayne.  This was only the second time in history that the Wildcats had defeated the Eagles (the last time was 2012).  Herod was demonstrative in the game and finished with 2g-3a.  For Wayne, Nate Michel was equally as impressive with 3g-2a.  The Wildcats increased to 4-0 on the season with Wayne recording their first loss (2-1).  Both see action again tomorrow with Wayne facing Mynderse and Marcus Whitman facing Gananda.
