Saturday - Brighton over Geneva

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - There were a dozen games played on Saturday and several close ones. Newark beat East in OT, Brighton beat Geneva by one, HF-L held on for a 5-4 with against the Lakers, and Pittsford had a 5-3 win over Hamburg.

PENN YAN 19 - BLOOMFIELD-HONEOYE 1 -Nine players scored for Penn Yan and six also had assists. Junior attackman Frank Ochoa had 5g-2a and freshman attackman Teagan Fingar had 4g-3a for the Mustangs (8-3). There was no report from the Pride at post time.     [BOX SCORE] 

McQuaid at SchroederBATAVIA-NOTRE DAME 3 - GATES CHILI 18 -Ten different players made the book for the Spartans. Leading the list were Blake Fennell with 5g, Owen Curley with 2g-2a and Ayden Zugnoni with 1g-3a. Noah Burke scored 3g for the Blue Devils who will play Waterloo next week.     [BOX SCORE] 

BRIGHTON 9 - GENEVA 8 - In a close game with a number of ties, Liam McGuire (2g-1a) broke the final tie early in the last quarter to give the Bruins the win. Jett Richardsen had 1g-3a and Aksel Stanat had 3g for Brighton. Geneva saw 4g from Curtis Denison and Garrett Kayser made 17s (65%) for the Panthers.   [BOX SCORE] 

McQuaid at SchroederSCHROEDER 10 - McQUAID JESUIT 5 -Sophomore goalie Casey Berns made 11s (69%) and Anthony DeRosa had 1g-3a for Schroeder. Nick Hauman added 2g-2a and five others made the book for the Warriors. There was no report from McQuaid Jesuit at post time.     [BOX SCORE] 

WAYNE 18 - HAVERLING 13 -It was a shooter`s day as, after a 3-3 tie, the Eagles took off and never lost the lead as both teams continued to score. Seven players made the book for Wayne. Leading the list were Noah Means with 4g-4a and Nate Michel with 5g-2a. Jamie O`Neil and Ezra Hoad both scored 4g-2a for the Rams (6-6). Wayne moves to 7-3 and will play Midlakes-Red Jacket on Tuesday.     [BOX SCORE] 

SPENCERPORT 18 - CHURCHVILLE-CHILI 6 -The Rangers started with a 13-1 half as Austin Mandarano scored 4g-4a and Anthony Rodriguez added 4g-3a. Cam Mesh won 7 of 9 draws and Taylor Kaye made 6s (67%). The Saints saw 2g-1a form Dominic Hock and 1g-2a from Brett Seaman.     [BOX SCORE] 

Livonia at  HFLEAST UNITED-EASTRIDGE 10 - NEWARK 11 OT - Preston Steve (4g-3a) scored the game winner in overtime. Tyler Deline had 3g and Kaiden Schutt and Sam Underhill each added 2g. There was no report from the Eagles at post time.     [BOX SCORE] 

WATERLOO 8 - BROCKPORT 3 -Peter Shangraw had 3g and Scott Verdehem had 2g-1a while goaltender Raymond Jones had 9s (75%) for Waterloo. There was no report from Brockport at post time.    [BOX SCORE] 

HAMBURG 3 - PITTSFORD 5 -  In a low scoring game at Hamburg (Section VI), the Bulldogs scored the first two goals and led 3-1 at the half, but the Panthers came back in the second half with four unanswered goals for the win. James Cook led the scoring with 2g01a. Pittsford (10-3) will play Spencerport on Tuesday.   [BOX SCORE] 

Livonia at  HFLVICTOR 14 - PENFIELD 4 - The Blue Devils were too much for Penfield as Thomas Gravino scored 3g-5a and Pax Marshall added 6g-1a while six other also made the book. Sam Ricci won 13 of 19 faceoffs and Brady Robinson made 6s (67%). Four different players each scored a goal for the Patriots (7-6) who play Canandaigua next week. Victor remains undefeated at 13-0 and will play Schroeder on Thursday.     [BOX SCORE] 

HF-L 5 - LIVONIA-AVON 4 - It was an exciting game as the Cougars held off late advances by the Lakers in their 5-4 win. Jackson McEnerney led the Lakers with 2g-1a and Matt Beachel recorded 13s (72%). There was no report from HF-L at post time.    [BOX SCORE] 

ORCHARD PARK 6 - FAIRPORT 13 -  The Red Raiders spread the scoring around as nine players made the book. Jackson Monte had 4g, Mitchell Monte had 1g-4a and Bill Meagher had 2g2a. Joe Giggie won 15 of 16 faceoffs for Fairport (8-3),   [BOX SCORE] 

Marcus Whitman took a forfeit from Bishop Kearney, when the game planned for today could not be rescheduled.
