Pittsford Triumphs Over McQuaid Jesuit
Pittsford maintained their undefeated record on Saturday with a 9-4 victory against McQuaid Jesuit in a non-league game hosted at McQuaid. Pittsford's offensive leaders included Grant Lewis, who tallied three goals, Avery Valenti and Jahyden Maiorani, each scoring two, along with additional contributions from Cole Goetz and Max Morgenstern. Cole Goetz also added two assists, while Charlie Ryan provided three assists, showcasing Pittsford's teamwork on the field. In goal, Bear Wehrheim, an eighth grader, held firm with a 69 percent save rate, stopping nine shots on goal.
McQuaid Jesuit, now at four wins and one loss, started strong in the first quarter with three goals but fell silent in the second and fourth quarters. McQuaid's scoring was led by JP Gianforti, AJ Quagrello, Will Engle, and Dominic Bianchi, each contributing one goal. John Burrows assisted three times, underlining McQuaid's collaborative approach. Despite senior Jack Rawleigh’s efforts in goal with a 53 percent save rate and ten stops, McQuaid could not overcome Pittsford's offensive momentum.
The series history continues to favor Pittsford, which now holds nine wins to McQuaid Jesuit's three. Pittsford's next match is away against Greece Storm on April 17, while McQuaid Jesuit hosts Fairport on April 15. [ Story and BOX SCORE] - - More images in the photo gallery.
