Saturday Highlights: Pittsford Over McQuaid

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Nine games were played today, with several featuring standout performances and close matchups. In a tightly contested game, Baldwinsville edged Thomas 14-12, with Jonah Jobson contributing six goals for Thomas. Pittsford at McQuaidCanandaigua overcame Corning 13-9 after a strong third quarter led by Ryan Bremer's four goals and two assists. Penn Yan secured a 13-6 victory against Geneva, with Teagan Fingar's five goals and four assists and goalie Will Thompson's seventy-six percent save rate leading the way. The remaining games saw decisive wins, including Hilton defeating Horseheads 12-3, Livonia-Avon-Geneseo topping Greece Storm 11-4, and Bloomfield-Honeoye staying undefeated with a 15-6 victory over East United-Eastridge. Other results include Archbishop Stepinac's 12-3 win over Irondequoit, Pittsford's 9-4 win over McQuaid Jesuit, and West Genesee prevailing over Fairport 14-1. 

IRONDEQUOIT-3 at ARCHBISHOP STEPINAC-12 - Archbishop Stepinac defeated Irondequoit 12-3 in a non-league lacrosse matchup. Stepinac's offense was led by Cole Mayclim, Chris Keating, and Nash Mayclim, while goalie Cole Feshal had ten saves.Pittsford at McQuaid Irondequoit's scoring came from Hank Velepec, Steven Clinkscales, and Cooper Moore, with goalie Sven Habitzreuther stopping thirteen shots for a fifty-two percent save rate. Senior Andrew Scully excelled in faceoffs, winning twelve out of eighteen. PITTSFORD-9 at MCQUAID JESUIT-4 - Pittsford defeated McQuaid Jesuit nine to four in a non-league match. Pittsford's Grant Lewis led the offense with three goals, supported by Avery Valenti and Jahyden Maiorani with two goals each. Eighth-grade goalie Bear Wehrheim showcased skill with a 69 percent save rate. GENEVA-6 at PENN YAN-13 - Penn Yan defeated Geneva thirteen to six in a non-league game. Teagan Fingar led Penn Yan with five goals and four assists, while Tukker Fisher scored four goals. Senior goalie Will Thompson had a 76 percent save rate. Geneva’s Ryland Dunham scored three goals and assisted twice.
