AQUINAS-14 at PENN YAN-11 -Aquinas defeated Penn Yan to gain their second Section V Title in program history with a 14-11 win over the Mustangs. The last time that the Li`l Irish won the title was also against Penn Yan back in 2010; in that game they snapped a 12 year winning streak for the Mustangs. This year they broke another 12 year winning streak.

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Penn Yan defeated Aquinas 11-6 to win their 12th straight (and 27th overall) Sectional Championship in the Class D game tonight. In the second game, Victor used seven different players including senior midfielder Braeden McConville who scored his first Varsity goal for the Blue Devils to the great delight of his teammates.

Penn Yan defeated Aquinas 11-6 to win their 12th straight (and 27th overall) Sectional Championship.  The Mustangs had a slow start in the first quarter, but picked up the pace for the remainder of the game and led throughout.  After three quarters, the Mustangs led 7-2 before both teams added four goals each in the final quarter.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - The teams are now complete for Tuesday and Wednesday nights at St. John Fisher University, where the 2023 Section V champions will be determined. In the Class B semi-finals, Irondequoit came out with the first three goals, but Victor came back with the win. In the second game at Pittsford Sutherland, in a close game that was not determined until the fourth quarter, Spencerport defeated Schroeder 6-4, sending the Rangers to their first Sectional finals. In Class D, Penn Yan scored four goals in the first quarter and led at the half 7-3 on their way to a 13-3 win over Marcus Whitman. Aquinas scored four goals in the first quarter and five in the second and led 9-2 at the half.

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - All of the quarterfinals in classes B and D were won by the higher seeded team except for # 7 Schroeder who, in a very low scoring close game, defeated #2 Canandaigua and will move on to play Spencerport in the semi-finals on Friday. Victor, who beat C-C will play Irondequoit, who beat Brighton. In Class D, Aquinas beat Haverling and will play Newark who beat Mynderse. Penn Yan beat Bloomfield-Honeoye and will play Marcus Whitman who beat Gananda.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - The golf event at Oak Hill was not the only program inconvenienced by the hard rain all day. The last six games of the regular season were played today. Bloomfield-Honeoye won their game with Brockport in "sudden victory". The Storm won their game with Gates Chili 9-4 and HFL beat Churchville-Chil 17-10,  but the four other games were mismatched.

Penfield beat Hilton and Canandaigua, in yet another low scoring game was the 3-2 winner at Thomas. The Saints had and exciting 9-8 win at Greece and Gananda won a 15-13 game against Kearney.

Waterloo scored three goals in the third to help win their 6-5 game with Midlakes-Red Jacket. *+Penn Yan cemented their 26th Section V Title with a comeback 8-6 win over Livonia-Avon.  The Mustangs trailed for most of the game before scoring four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to secure the win.  The Mustangs showed their pedigree of Section Final matches and stayed cool and collected throughout.
