Tuesday: Three Wins in OT - CA, Fpt and EU/E

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were eight games played today and three were won in overtime.  Junior A/M Sam Pucci (1g-1a) scored the game-winner for Fairport, East United/Eastridge won their game in overtime, and junior attackman Sean Olvany (5g) scored the unassisted game winner For Canandaigua. Other winners were R-H and Brighton.

R-H vs ThomasFAIRPORT-7 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-6 - OT - The Saints shutout Fairport in the first half, scoring two goals in the first and three in the second, but the Red Raiders returned after the break ready to play and outscored Churchville-Chili 6-1 ending in a tie at regulation. Junior A/M Sam Pucci (1g-1a) scored the game-winner in overtime.  Junior midfielder Ryan Pedro and Junior defenseman Zackary McNally both scored their first Varsity goal as Fairport (1-1) recorded their first win of the season. Leading the scoring for Fairport were senior midfielder Bobby Cameron (2g-1a), junior midfielder Ryan Pedro (2g), Pucci, and sophomore midfielder Mitchell Monte (1g). Facing off for Fairport was sophomore Mitchell Monte with 9+/3- = 75%. Fairport sophomore Luke Ryan was in the goal and recorded 3s/1ga = 75% (24 mins). 

Leading the scoring for Churchville-Chili (0-3) were junior attackman Colin Duncan (4g), sophomore midfielder Matthew Mitchell (1g-1a), senior face off midfielder Sean Levey (1g-1a), and freshman attackman Jaxon Leonard (0g-1a). Facing off for Churchville-Chili was senior Brock Osborne with 5+/3- = 63%. In the goal for Churchville-Chili was senior Bradley Shaw with 15s/7ga = 68% (48 mins).     [ BOX SCORE

BRIGHTON-13 at WAYNE-6 - Brighton went right to work, scoring the only three goals in the first quarter and leading 8=2 at the half. The second half was a closer game. Leading the scoring for Brighton (1-1) were freshman attackman James Holbrough (4g-4a), sophomore attackman Miles McGuire (4g-1a), and sophomore midfielder Gavin Parks (2a). Junior Kieran Hughes scored his first Varsity goal in the game. Facing off for Brighton was sophomore Henry Werzinger with 10+/7- = 59% and in the goal for Brighton was junior Thomas D`Angelo with 11s/6ga = 65% (45 mins), and freshman Logan Serve with 1s/0ga = 100% (3 mins).  There was no report from Wayne (1-2) at post-time.    [ BOX SCORE

R-H vs ThomasEAST UNITED-EASTRIDGE-7 at GATES CHILI-6 OT - In this game where each team scored one goal in the first, two goals in the second, one goal in the third and 3 goals in the fourth, it took overtime to settle the game.

East United secured its first win against Gates Chili in the program's history. Trailing by two in the fourth quarter  Nkodia Ndongala scored two goals and won both faceoffs to tie the game at the end of regulation. 8th Grader Jahyden Maiorani scored the go-ahead goal in triple OT forthe win. 

Leading the scoring for East United-Eastridge (2g-1a) were 8th grade attackman Jahyden Maiorani (2g-1a), senior attackman Ryan LaRose (2g), junior midfielder Nkodia Ndongala (2g), and junior attackman Edward Kelley (1a). Facing off for East United-Eastridge was junior Nkodia Ndongala with 8+/6- = 57%. In the goal for East United-Eastridge was junior Ronald Dietz with 19s/6ga = 76% (50 mins). 

Scoring for Gates Chili (0-3) were junior attackman Owen Curley (2g-1a), senior midfielder Marlon Salmon (2g-1a), and sophomore face off midfielder Michael Alley (2g-1a).  The Spartans are at Penfield on Tuesday.   [ BOX SCORE

R-H vs ThomasRUSH-HENRIETTA-15 at THOMAS-12 - It was a close game for most of the first half, with five ties, but at 7-7 with about four minutes left in the half, Justin Dey (2g) scored with and assist from Makai Hillmon (3a) to give the Royal Comets the lead, which they held until the end of the game. Leading the scoring for Rush-Henrietta (1-1) were senior midfielder Mike Valent (6g), junior attackman Cody Coleman (3g-2a), and senior A/M Jett Richardsen (3g-1a). Facing off for Rush-Henrietta was senior Mike Valent with 22+/6- = 79%.

 At Post time, Thomas had only reported that in the goal for Thomas was senior Zachary Isaac with 19s/15ga = 56% (48 mins).    [ BOX SCORE

PY vs MarcellusPENN YAN-3 at MARCELLUS-10 - Marcellus (Syracuse) was too strong for the Mustangs in this season opener as they held the visitors to two goals in the first half and one in the second. Scoring for Penn Yan (0-1) were junior midfielder Bryant VanHousen (1g-1a), sophomore attackman Teagan Fingar (1g), and senior midfielder Carter Earl (1g). In the goal for Penn Yan was sophomore Will Thompson with 16s/10ga = 62% (48 mins). Penn Yan is at Westhill on Friday.

Scoring for Marcellus were Chris Doshna(2g-1a), Doryn LeClair(1g-3a), Jimmy Cox(1g), Adam Rayfield(4g-2a), Nick Rayfield(2g-2a. Goalie: Quenten Polkowski (5s/3ga 48 mins).    [ BOX SCORE

HILTON-8 at CANANDAIGUA-9 OT - It was a series of runs in this very close game that led to an exciting finish. Down 7-2 with four minutes left in the third quarter, the Braves scored six goals in a row to take an 8-7 lead with 3:24 left in the game. Chase Wilson scored for Hilton with an assist from Aiden Cawley to time the game at 8-8 and force overtime. Junior attackman Sean Olvany (5g), who scored four of the six goals in the comeback run, scored the unassisted game winner in overtime.

Leading the scoring for Canandaigua (2-0) were Olvany (5g), sophomore attackman Drew Williamee (2g-1a), and junior midfielder Alex Rheude (1g-1a). Facing off for Canandaigua was senior Luke McCrobie with 12+/9- = 57%. CA will host Corning on Saturday.

Leading the scoring for Hilton (1-2) were junior attackman Chase Wilson (4g), senior midfielder Aiden Cawley (1g-2a), and junior midfielder Robert Taddeo (2a). Junior attackman Kevin Bell (Hilton) scored his first Varsity goal for the Cadets. In the goal for Hilton was senior Jason Mosher with 24s/9ga = 73% (48 mins).     [ BOX SCORE

PY vs MarcellusPAL-MAC-7 at MCDOWELL-11 - The first half was close with McDowel scoring 2-1 in the first quarter and the teams both scoring three in the second. Three unanswered goals by McDowell in the third made the difference.

Leading the scoring for Pal-Mac (1-2) were 8th grade A/M Nathan McKinney (2g), senior midfielder Devon McKoy (2g), senior A/M Mike D`Arduini (2g), senior defenseman Robert Kinslow (1g), senior A/M Aiden Nice (1a), sophomore Luke VanGorden (1a), and freshman A/M Brandon Dennie (1a). VICTOR-5 at CALVERT HALL MD -18 - Victor fell to a powerful Calvert Hall offense today as part of the spring road trip. Both teams scored two goals in the first quarter, but in the second Calvert Hall score eight unanswered goals and led at the half 10-2. Scoring for Victor (1-1) were junior midfielder Aiden Clinkscales (2g), junior attackman Jack Herendeen (1a), senior attackman Sam Gotham (1g), senior face off midfielder Sam Ricci (1g), senior goalie Brady Robinson (1a), and senior attackman Pax Marshall (1g).  There was no information for Calvert Hall MD at post-time.    [ BOX SCORE
