Penn Yan and Victor Advance

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Penn Yan defeated Aquinas 11-6 to win their 12th straight (and 27th overall) Sectional Championship in the Class D game tonight. In the second game, Victor used seven different players including senior midfielder Braeden McConville who scored his first Varsity goal for the Blue Devils to the great delight of his teammates.

McQuaid vs PittsfordSPENCERPORT-6 vs VICTOR-16 in a Sect V Championship game - Victor won their first Championship since 2019 with a 16-6 win over Spencerport.  This was the first time in program history that Spencerport made the finals and the first time since Victor’s six-year winning Streak (2014-2019) that the Blue Devils had made the finals.  In addition to Victor Boys winning the title, the Victor Girls Lacrosse team also won their Championship earlier in the evening with an 8-7 quadruple overtime win against Irondequoit.

McQuaid vs PittsfordLeading the scoring for Victor (17-2) were Thomas Gravino (7g), Sam Gotham (2g-3a), and Jack Herendeen (3g-1a). Facing off for Victor was senior Sam Ricci with 17+/7- = 71%. Ricci won his 600th draw in the game and in the goal for Victor was senior Brady Robinson with 6s/5ga = 55% (47 mins).

McQuaid vs PittsfordPENN YAN-11 vs AQUINAS-6 in a Sect V Championship game -  Penn Yan defeated Aquinas 11-6 to win their 12th straight (and 27th overall) Sectional Championship.  The Mustangs had a slow start in the first quarter, but picked up the pace for the remainder of the game and led throughout.

Scoring for Penn Yan (12-7) were Teagan Fingar (1g-3a), Braden Fingar (2g-2a), Bryant VanHousen (2g-1a), Caden Dixon (3g), Anthony Druker (1a), Carter Earl (1g), and Tukker Fisher (2g). In the goal for Penn Yan was sophomore Will Thompson with 10s/6ga = 63% (48 mins).
