Eight Close Games: Victor Over Nisky in OT

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - There were 16 games played today and 8 were close ones. Baldwinsville defeated Canandaigua 5-4. Wayne was a 12-10 winner over Bloomfield-Honeoye and Hilton was a 8-7 winner over Horseheads. Aquinas defeated Canisius by a score of 8-7. Greece Storm defeated Eden by a score of 8-6. Victor was a 10-9 winner over Niskayuna. Penn Yan was a 4-3 winner over Clarence and West Genesee was a 10-8 winner over Penfield. 

Niskayuna at VictorCANANDAIGUA-4 at BALDWINSVILLE-5 - The Bees won their third game from Section V when they defeated Canandaigua today. Earlier in the season they beat Irondequoit (by one goal) and Thomas and in their last six meetings with CA they have a 6-0 record (since 2005). Baldwinsville took an early lead and went into halftime up 4-1. The teams each scored one goal in the third and the Gray Wolves mounted a comeback with two unanswered goals in the last stanza. Niskayuna at VictorNISKAYUNA-9 at VICTOR-10 in overtime - Senior attackman Christian Besaw scored the overtime game winner for Victor with an assist from Jack Herendeen with 00:02:42 left in overtime. The game was close throughout and saw four ties and although the Silver Warriors held a one goal advantage in each of the first two quarters, the Blue Devils outscored Nisky 3-1 in the second half. Niskayuna led 9-8 with 9:31 left in the game, but Herendeed tied the game with 24 seconds left in regulation.
