# 4350  Players of the Week - Group 7

Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with Geneva Club Beverages are sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season.

In our seventh group we have two seniors, a freshman and a sophomore who had noteworthy performances in the last week.

Offensive Players of the Week

Brayden Arber

Chancellor Williams  - Junior East United/Eastridge Defenseman/DM

Chancellor Williams had a good week, recording 2g-2a-9gbs-2ct vs Brockport and 6g-3a-8gb-5ct against Syracuse City where he scored the tying and overtime goal. He has been the key player for the Eagles all season and according to his coach, "In two big games this week Chancellor has stepped up for his team in every way playing both LSM, SSDM, and Offensive Midfield the entire game. At this point in the season he is playing on average 42-44 minutes per game as a midfielder." The Hampton commit has scored 24 goals and 12 assists as  a defense/defensive midfielder.

Head Coach London Booker says, "Chancellor plays every minute of every game. At this point in the season the only position he hasn't played is goalie. He continues to lead our team in every statistical category, defensively and offensively. Super proud to see the player he has grown into!"

Offensive Players of the Week

Red Wolk

Red Wolk  - Freshman Brighton Attackman

Red Wolk is an exciting player. For a first-year player, there are not many experiences on a lacrosse field that can top, scoring an overtime, game winning goal in a game where Brighton plays Irondequoit. It is an event worth celebrating. This season, Red has scored points in every game thus far, totally 15 goals and 13 assists.

Head Coach Josh Laskowski says, "Redmond has far exceeded our expectations of a 7th grader this season. He plays with an incredibly high IQ, deep passion for the game, and an elegance that is rare for his age. Red is a dual threat, not only a proficient scorer but possesses incredible vision and playmaking ability. He can play any position in an offense, makes those around him better, and is a great teammate both on and off the field.

This comes as no surprise - Red is constantly working on his craft, always looking to get better and learn something each day. His mindset, maturity, and ability to handle the moment, make him the special player that he is."

Defensive Player of the Week

Stuart QukuStuart Quku - Senior Midlakes Goalie

Stuart Quku started out as an attackman, but when his coach asked him to step into the goal last year, he willingly stepped up and was awarded first team all-league honors as a junior. This season he continues to roll up the stats including passing 300 saves earlier in the season. Last week he had an 87% day vs Wayne, 61% vs L-A-G and a 70% day against Jorden Elbridge.

Head Coach John Hicks says, "Stuart is a leader on the field. He helps lead the defense being vocal and also recognizing what other teams are doing. He is like a second coach out on the field. He is a team captain and puts his team before himself. When you drive past his house he is always outside with his little brother playing lacrosse, always working to get better. I am not sure where we would be without Stuart stepping up the way he has. "

Defensive Player of the Week

Wilson OlivaWilson Oliva - Sophomore Penn Yan Goalie

Wilson Oliva

has a great week in the goal for the Mustangs, recording twenty-two saves (65%) and helping to get two more wins for the team. His 72% day (13 saves) against HF-L and 56% day against Hamburg were demonstrative and added to his total of 62 saves for the 10-3 Mustangs.

Head Coach Brian Hobart says, "Wilson has stepped forward in recent weeks and played very well. He brings an energy and positive attitude that our entire team feeds off. We look forward to his continued development in the goal. He is a kid who works very hard on the field and in the classroom. He is a very upbeat and positive young man that is becoming a real leader on our team."

Note: Face-off players are considered for both offensive and defensive Players of the Week.

Honorable Mentions: Will Simpson (Victor), Eli Ricci (Victor), Aiden Kopper (Batavia-ND), Matt Logan (Victor), Drew Brien (Hilton)
