Tight Battles and Late Rallies Today

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Of the ten games played today, six were nail-biters, with thrilling finishes and standout performances. Rush-Henrietta edged out Schroeder 8-7 after overcoming an early deficit, while Hilton held off Spencerport in a 13-11 contest. Victor mounted a dramatic comeback, scoring five goals in the final quarter to secure an 11-10 win over McQuaid Jesuit.Schroeder at RH Brockport never let up, maintaining control in a 12-9 victory over Gates Chili, while HFL surged late to pull away from East Aurora 16-9. Fairport broke open a close battle with Thomas to claim a 7-3 win. The remaining four matchups saw decisive victories, including Brighton, Churchville-Chili, Aquinas, and Waterloo dominating their opponents with strong performances across the board. 

GATES CHILI-9 at BROCKPORT-12 - Brockport took control early and maintained their lead in a 12-9 win over Gates Chili in their league matchup. Ryan Miller led Brockport with five goals and one assist, while goalkeeper James Newton recorded 20 saves with a 69% save percentage. Gates Chili's Callaway Phommachanh scored three goals and added an assist, with goalkeeper Gianni Salandy making 18 saves at a 60% save percentage.    [ Story and BOX SCORE

EAST AURORA-9 at HFL-16 - HFL secured a 16-9 win over East Aurora, scoring eight goals in the fourth quarter to pull ahead.Schroeder at RH Leading scorer Grady Goodberlet had six goals and six assists, while Quinn Kailbourne also netted six goals. Marco Vengoechea reached his 50th career goal, and goalie Jason Bennett recorded ten saves. HFL faces Irondequoit next on Friday.    [ Story and BOX SCORE

SCHROEDER-7 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-8 - Rush-Henrietta secured an 8-7 victory over Schroeder after overcoming an early deficit. Schroeder led 5-1 after the first quarter, but Rush-Henrietta responded with three goals in the second and stayed steady to secure the win. Schroeder saw contributions from Conger and Stockmann with two goals each, while Bolton recorded 10 saves at a 56% rate. MCQUAID JESUIT-10 at VICTOR-11 - Victor staged a late comeback to defeat McQuaid Jesuit 11-10 after trailing for most of the game. JP Gianforti led McQuaid Jesuit with six goals, while Kyle Saeger paced Schroeder at RHVictor with four goals and one assist. Victor scored five goals in the fourth quarter, with Eli Ricci delivering the game-winner. McQuaid Jesuit's goalie, Jack Rawleigh, posted sixteen saves at 59%, while Victor's Will Simpson recorded ten saves at 50%. HILTON-13 at SPENCERPORT-11 - Hilton secured a 13-11 win over Spencerport in a non-league contest, led by Braydon Pike’s four goals and two assists. Spencerport’s top performers included Zachary Ajavananda and Zach Tortora, each with three goals and two assists. Hilton’s Drew O’Buck controlled the face-offs, winning 21 of 26. In goal, Spencerport’s Zach Miceli posted an impressive 92% save rate over 24 minutes. FAIRPORT-7 at THOMAS-3 - Fairport secured a 7-3 win over Thomas in a non-league game. After a close first half, Fairport scored six goals in the second half while Thomas added only one. Fairport's Mitchell Monte led all scorers with five goals and two assists, while Thomas got goals from Lucas Estelle,BK at AQ Lucas Nuccotelli, and Brandon Trottier. GREECE STORM-3 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-14 - Churchville-Chili defeated Greece Storm 14-3 in a non-league matchup, led by Jaxon Leonard’s four goals and four assists. Greece Storm’s Carter Fabian scored all three of his team’s goals. Churchville-Chili’s goalie Dominic Marra recorded an 80% save rate, while Greece Storm’s Mitchell Barnes made 12 saves. HAMBURG-3 at BRIGHTON-17- Brighton earned a 17-3 victory over Hamburg in a non-league game, led by Gavin Parks with six goals and Miles McGuire with four goals and two assists. Strong goaltending from Logan Serve and Phil Stapf helped secure the win, while senior Henry Werzinger won 15 of 22 face-offs. BISHOP KEARNEY-6 at AQUINAS-17 - Aquinas earned a 17-6 victory over Bishop Kearney, led by junior attackman Tano Auriuso’s fivegoals and one assist. Eight different players scored for Aquinas, and goalies Jake Gibson and Logan Schimmel posted strong performances. Bishop Kearney’s leading scorer was James Scantleburry, who recorded three goals and one assist. BATAVIA-NOTRE DAME-5 at WATERLOO-12 - Waterloo earned its first win of the season, defeating Batavia-Notre Dame 12-5 in a non-league matchup that was a continuation of a game played earlier but halted by thunder. Caden Shangraw led the scoring for Waterloo with four goals, while Jon Smith and four others each scored once for Batavia-Notre Dame. Goalie Dylan Acquilano had a 64% save rate for Waterloo, and Branden Flanagan stopped 75% of shots in his time in net for Batavia-Notre Dame.   [ Story and BOX SCORE
