Irondequoit's Last-Second Rally Headlines Busy Saturday
DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Saturday's most dramatic finish came at Canandaigua, where Irondequoit trailed by four goals before scoring three times in the final 30 seconds of regulation to force overtime, then got the winner from Hank Velepec to escape with
a 9-8 victory. Elsewhere, it was a big day for milestones, with Brighton's Teddy Carl putting up 12 goals in a 23-1 win over Greece Storm, Spencerport's Zach Tortora reaching 150 career goals, and Victor's Will Simpson recording his 200th career save. MCQUAID JESUIT-16 at CANISIUS-9 - McQuaid Jesuit opened its season Saturday with a 16-9 win over Canisius, getting four goals from Bianchi, three goals and four assists from Burrows, and three goals and two assists from Giangreco, who also went 10-for-13 at the faceoff dot.
