Valenti's OT Winner, Serve's 200th Save Mark the Day
DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - The boys lacrosse action was packed with milestones and close finishes. Pittsford stayed unbeaten at 4-0 on Avery Valenti's overtime goal at West Genesee, while Brighton remained perfect at 3-0 behind four goals from
Austin Flaum and Logan Serve's 200th career save in a 9-7 win over McQuaid. Penfield's Brodie Joyce reached 100 career assists in a 12-5 win at Archbishop Stepinac, Penn Yan's Greyson Hathway surpassed 400 career faceoff wins in a loss to Thomas, and Victor's Eli Ricci hit the same milestone in a 14-10 win over a strong St. Andrews program in Florida. Irondequoit also bounced back from its first loss with a 9-7 win at Fairport, with Dylan Carey handing out five assists, and Aquinas got five goals from freshman Kellan Campe in a 10-6 win over Livonia-Avon-Geneseo.
PITTSFORD-9 at WEST GENESEE-8 in overtime - Pittsford stayed unbeaten with a 9-8 overtime win at West Genesee Thursday afternoon, rallying from a 3-1 first-quarter deficit to tie the game and force overtime, where senior midfielder Avery Valenti scored the game winner to keep the Panthers at 4-0.
For Pittsford (4-0), Valenti led with five goals, including the overtime winner, while junior Grant Lewis added four goals. Junior Max Morgenstern contributed three assists, and sophomore Luke Jutzin picked up his first varsity assist. Freshman Bear Wehrheim stopped 10 shots for a 56% save percentage in 48 minutes.
For West
Genesee (0-2), Nash Oudemool led with three goals and Luke Lockwood added two goals. Liam Kelly contributed one goal and one assist, while Jeffrey Mercer and Riley McAloon each added one goal. MCQUAID JESUIT-7 at BRIGHTON-9 - Brighton stayed unbeaten with a 9-7 non-league win over McQuaid Jesuit on Thursday morning, rallying from a 3-3 tie after the first quarter with six straight goals before McQuaid cut the lead to two with four third-quarter goals. Senior goalie Logan Serve reached 200 career saves in the process, finishing with 12 on the day.
For Brighton (3-0), sophomore Austin Flaum led with four goals and two assists, while freshman Jimmy Kazel added two goals and one assist. Freshman Teddy Carl contributed one goal and one assist, and Ben Marangola added one goal and one assist. Senior faceoff midfielder Gavin Hayslip surpassed 100 career faceoff wins, finishing with four wins on the day to reach 102 total. Serve stopped 12 shots for a 63% save percentage.
For McQuaid Jesuit (1-1), senior Aidan O'Brien led with three goals and one assist, while junior John Burrows added two goals. Joe DiMarco and Hudson Proia each chipped in one goal, and sophomore Dominic Camarella picked up his first varsity assist. Giangreco went nine-for-11 at

IRONDEQUOIT-9 at FAIRPORT-7 - Irondequoit bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 9-7 non-league win at Fairport on Thursday morning, jumping out to a 6-0 lead through two quarters before Fairport rallied to cut the deficit to two in the fourth quarter. Irondequoit held on to improve to 3-1.
For Irondequoit (3-1), senior Dylan Carey ran the offense with five assists, while senior Colin Giudice added two goals and one assist and senior Cooper Moore contributed two goals and one assist. Kieran Stenzel, Riley Grisdale, Travis Horton, Doug Velepec, and Hank Velepec each added one goal, with Grisdale also picking up an assist. Sophomore Matt Long went five-for-18 at the faceoff dot. Freshman goalie Nathaniel Reed was perfect in five minutes of play, and senior Colin Landrigan stopped nine shots for a 56% save percentage in 43 minutes.
For Fairport (0-3), sophomore Grant Ralston led with three goals, while senior Ryan Priddy added two goals and two assists and sophomore Marco Provenzano contributed two goals and two assists. PENFIELD-12 at ARCHBISHOP STEPINAC-5 - Penfield picked up its second win of the season with a 12-5 non-league victory at Archbishop Stepinac on Thursday morning, building a 7-2 halftime lead that included a run of five straight goals. The Patriots improve to 2-2 on the season.

Penfield (2-2), senior attackman Brodie Joyce reached 100 career varsity assists, finishing with two goals and three assists to push his total to 102. Junior Cole Bellerose led with three goals, and junior Jake Maurer added one goal and three assists. Senior faceoff midfielder Colin Miller contributed two goals and one assist, scoring his first varsity goal, and sophomore Nick DiCataldo also scored his first varsity goal. Griffin Banister added one goal and one assist, and Tyler Pavone chipped in one goal and one assist. Miller went 11-for-17 at the faceoff dot (65%), and senior Mason Schembri stopped 16 shots for an 80% save percentage in 45 minutes.

THOMAS-14 at PENN YAN-8 - Thomas handed Penn Yan its first loss of the season with a 14-8 non-league win Thursday morning at Penn Yan, scoring six goals in the first quarter to build an early lead and never trailing. The win gives Thomas a 10-5 all-time edge in the series.
For Thomas (2-2), sophomore Lucas Estelle led with five goals and two assists, while sophomore Jonah Jobson added three goals and sophomore Jake Nicolay contributed two goals and two assists. Logan Muisus chipped in two goals, and Charlie Repman and Lucas Nuccotelli each added one goal. Senior defenseman Landon Provenzano picked up his first varsity assist. Senior goalie Joshua Jobson stopped nine shots for a 53% save percentage in 46 minutes.
For Penn Yan (1-1), senior Braden Fingar led with three goals, while junior Miles Ditzell added two goals and junior Mike Gigliotti contributed one goal and two assists. Sophomore Greyson Hathway went 15-for-25 at the faceoff dot (60%), surpassing 400 career faceoff wins in the process with

AQUINAS-10 at LIVONIA-AVON-GENESEO-6 - Aquinas topped Livonia-Avon-Geneseo 10-6 in a non-league game Thursday evening, taking a 6-2 halftime lead and holding on despite a strong second-half push from the host Lakers. The win gives Aquinas a 2-0 all-time record against Livonia-Avon-Geneseo.
For Aquinas (2-1), freshman Kellan Campe led with five goals and one assist, while senior Jack Bell added two goals and one assist and freshman Chase Acker contributed two goals. Freshman Parker Wegman added one goal and one assist. Acker and Campe scored their first varsity goal and assist respectively. Senior Jake Gibson stopped 17 shots for a 74% save percentage in 48 minutes.
For Livonia-Avon-Geneseo (0-1), sophomore Will Schweitzer led with three goals and one assist, while junior Rider VanZandt added two goals. Senior Nikolai Hanna contributed one goal and two assists. VanZandt surpassed 200 career faceoff wins, going 15-for-18 (83%) to push his total to 209, and freshman Brian Gibbs went three-for-three (100%). VICTOR-14 at ST. ANDREWS - FLORIDA-10 - Victor picked up a 14-10 non-league win at St. Andrews in Florida on Thursday evening, building a 8-5 halftime
lead before St. Andrews rallied to cut the deficit to two in the fourth quarter. Victor held on to improve to 3-1 against a St. Andrews program that entered the game at 13-3.
For Victor (3-1), junior Matthew Herendeen led with three goals and one assist, while sophomore Eli Ricci added three goals and went 20-for-26 at the faceoff dot (77%), surpassing 400 career faceoff wins with 411 total. Senior Gage Hay contributed two goals and one assist, and senior Colin Wheeler added two goals and one assist. Junior Jackson Mead contributed one goal and two assists, sophomore Lincoln Snyder added one goal and three assists, and senior Weston Oyer chipped in one goal and one assist.
