Fairport, for example, played Corning and earned a 75% season with their win. Everyone team that played Fairport this year earned additional points toward seeding with that win. The Tournament seeding was released on Friday night and the games will begin on May 21st. Three hundred and eight games have been played thus far. Seventy out of Section games have been played. Section five teams have won forty-nine (70%). Victor, Thomas, HF-L, Gananda and McQuaid Jesuit ended the season at the top of their leagues. |

Penn Yan used six goals in the fisrt quarter on their way to a victory over Marcus Whitman. Conner Fingar led the Mustang offense with 5g-3a and Austin Blumbergs added 3g-3a. Fairport (11-4) took off in the third quaretr after a 3-1 half and coasted to a 10-4 win over Orchard Park (9-6) of section 6. Spencer Bell scored 3g-1a and Klay Stuver added 3g for the Red Raiders who will finish their season on Friday when they play Corning. Tim Defendis made 9 saves for the Fairport (82%). |

In what can only be described as surprising, Hilton scored eight unanswered goals in the first and second periods only to give up eight goals and the 11-10 win to Penfield. Max Hoadley scored the winning goal for the Patriots with 0:02 left in regulation. Gates Chili found themselves tied with Brockport early in the third quarter and after scoring two in a row, held off a last charge by the Blue Devils to take the 6-5 win. |

The big exception was Victor who hosted Jamesville-DeWitt at the Pinnacle indoor facility in Victor. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by Canandaigua senior Attackman, Devin Andrews who was named "Player of the Year". Andrews, who was also a US Lacrosse All-American, scored 72 goals and 47 assists this year. The SportsFive Offensive Player of the Year plans to study and play at Stony Brook next year. |

The Blue Devils had an 8 goal lead in the fourth quarter (13-5), before Brighton scored the final five goals. The Barons kept the game close earlier, before Victor began to slowly pull away. The Blue Devils held Brighton scoreless for 19 minutes spanning the entire third quarter. Victor advances to the finals for the fifth consecutive time (three time defending Champion). |

Churchville-Chili scored the first three with goals from Corey Yunker, Ryan Mead and Jason Tebo. Tebo scored 4g in the game, including his 100th career goal. Brighton scored their first goal with 5:59 remaining when Brett Randall scored the first of his 5g-2a. The Saints added their fourth, with Jacob Buck scoring off a feed from Yunker. |
# 439 2016 All-Section Five List Released This is the sixth year for the Section Five All-Section Team. It is an effort by the Lacrosse Committee and the coaches of Section Five to identify some of the top players among the over 1,100 varsity players in the section this year. Nominations for the lists came from Head coaches, administrators and SportsFive personnel. This year 15 players were selected for the first team, 13 players for second team and this year, 12 players on the third team. Our six All Americans automatically make the first team. All players on this list must first be named to their first team All-League teams or be from Independent teams. |
