Tuesday: McQuaid Jesuit and Brighton both Win
Penn Yan`s game at Erie McDowell was cancelled after Erie picked up six more inches of snow over night. Massive scoring was on the agenda as Brighton hosted Gates Chili in a Monroe County crossover game. Brighton led 9-5 at the half, but Gates Chili scored seven goals in the last quarter to make it an exciting finish. Canandaigua and Geneva both opened their season and it was the first time on the field for Geneva. Aquinas fell to Canisius of Section Six and McQuaid held off an Irondequoit charge a last quarter.

-- Sophomore attackman Brett Randall (5g-2a) and Freshman Attackman Brady McDermott (5g-5a) were on fire for Brighton who took a lead in the first quarter and never trail led. Gates Chili made a strong comeback in the last quarter, scoring three goals in under one minute to take the score to 15-13. Joe Talarico one of his 3g-1a with four minutes left to take the Spartans to within one, but McDermott and junior attackman Max Coke (2g-2a) finished the scoring for Brighton.

-- Senior midfielder/face off specialist Nick Johnson gave the Canandaigua Braves lots of offensive opportunities, winning thirteen of sixteen face offs. Of their sixteen goals, thirteen were assisted.

-- The game went back and forth in the first quarter, but McQuaid took control in the middle two quarters in their 10-9 win over Irondequoit. The Knights led, 10-5, early in the last quarter, but Irondequoit scored the next four goals. The Knights were able to control the ball for the last two minutes of the game.
