Thursday: Thomas Over Penn Yan in Double OT

DAY IN REVIEW: Webster Thomas took their first lead with an overtime goal from Colin Horan in the second overtime period to defeat Penn Yan 9-8. The Mustangs led for major portions of the game and had a three goal lead with 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Thomas scored the final four goals of the match-up to force overtime and take the win.

Brighton at SpencerportBrockport defeated Newark 8-7 after leading 8-2 with 4:40 remaining in the third quarter. The Reds scored the last five goals of the match-up. Nick Vergari led in scoring for Brockport with 3g. Brighton scored first and held the lead for the rest of the game after travelling to Spencerport. The Rangers posted a six goal run in the third quarter. Brady McDermott (4g-3a), Casey McDermott (5g) and Brett Randall (4g-1a) led the Barons. Owen VanWie led the scoring for Spencerport with 3g.

Gananda took over the lead in the second quarter and never let go. The Blue Panthers defeated Gates Chili 16-14. It was senior night at Gananda, the first three goals were all scored by seniors. Alex Buchko scored the opening goal 0:52 into the game with Jacob Thomas and Ryan Finnegan adding the next two.

Sam Miller had 4g-2a to lead the scoring for Geneva in their win over the Thunder this afternoon. The goalies had good performances for both teams as Jacob Drennen was credited with 16 saves (80%) for the Panther and Donald Yandow was credited with 16 saves (70%) for the Thunder.

McQuaid Jesuit defeated Aquinas 6-5 in a contest that never had the scoring more than one goal apart. The teams alternated scoring with both teams leading throughout the contest. McQuaid Jesuit's James Merkley scored the game winning goal with only 0:10 remaining in regulation. The Knight's goalie Hunter Goldstin finished with 17 saves (77%) and was a key factor in their victory.

Also winning games were Mynderse and Haverling.
