Tuesday: Galbraith OT Goal Lifts Pittsford
DAY IN REVIEW: John Galbraith scored the final goal of Pittsford`s comeback victory over Webster Thomas 9-8 in the first overtime period. The Titans scored the opening goal and never trailed; however, the game was tied 5 times throughout the contest. MORE
Hilton scored 10 out of the first 12 goals in their 14-9 win over Canandaigua. The Cadets held the Braves to only a single goal in the first three quarters. Their largest lead of the game was 10-2 with only 4:55 remaining in the third quarter. Canandaigua fought back in the fourth quarter to make the score closer than in the first 36 minutes. Devin Andrews led for the Braves with 5g-2a. With tonight's scoring, he reached the 100 point mark for this season (59g-45a). For Hilton Jordan DePetres (5g) and Ben Mitrano (3g-2a) led in scoring.
Brighton has a strong first half earning an 11-4 lead in their MC-D2 game with Rush-Henrietta. Casey McDermott scored 3g-5a, Brady McDermott added 3g-2a and Brett Randall added 6g-2a for the Barons. Seven different players made the Royal Comet scorebook. In the lead was TJ Day with four goals. After a close first quarter, Eastridge took the lead and never looked back in the victory over Brockport. Clark Pearce led the winners with 3g-6a, followed by Andrew Doktor with 3g-4a. The Blue Devils were led by Tyler Stiefel with 6g-1a and Jeremy Hopsicker with 6a.
Churchville-Chili scored the final two goals in the fourth quarter to re-take the lead and defeat Schroeder 7-6. MORE
Gananda led for the majority of the game in their 17-16 win over Medina. The Blue Panthers led by four goals with just over 3 minutes on the clock before Medina scored the final three goals. Medina was led in scoring by Brendan Luthart with 5g-3a. Leading in scoring for Gananda was Ryan Finnegan with 4g-4a. Evan Smith recorded a team leading 11 ground balls for Gananda.
Austin Blumbergs (6g-1a) was in on seven out of Penn Yan`s nine goals in their victory over McQuaid.
The Thunder scored the first six goals on their way to victory over the Greece Lightning. Zach Gibaud scored 5g-4a for the winners whose goalie, Donald Yandow recorded seven saves (58%). Joe Wegman was credited with 16 of 23 face offs to the Lightning. Matt McHale (3g) was the lead scorer for the Lightning and scored his 100th Varsity goal. He also picked up eight ground balls and brought his career total to over 250.
Also winning games were HF-L, Victor, Waterloo and Aquinas.
