Penfield has Thirty-Three Weapons

Penfield has been playing in the Class A tournaments until this year when they dropped to Class B where there will be huge competition at tournament time. The Patriots will see a bunch of Class B teams during the regular season with interesting matchups with Canandaigua on May 12th, Thomas on May 19th and Victor two days later. They will open their season hosing West Genesee on May 1st. Full Story

After his arrival during the 2018 tournament, Head Coach Jeff Dunham won his first sectional title. Many coaches in the Section think that Head Coach Jeff Dunham could end up with his third sectional championship this spring. Full Story

Penn Yan Looks for Number 25

There is no doubt the Penn Yan will be looking to win their twenty-fifth Section V title this spring. The Mustangs have won every year except one since 1998. Head Coach Brian Hobart will be playing fourteen regular season games, most of which will be against Finer Lakes teams. The Mustangs will be playing as part of the Finger Lake League this year after many years as an Independent. In a "normal" year they would have scheduled tough competition in and out the Section as they would prepare for NYS tournament action, but there is no State tournaments this spring. Full Story

Rush-Henrietta in a Tough Class A

The Royal Comets had fifteen seniors last year who did not get their senior year and almost all of their scoring left with them. The 2019 season was their best year for R-H since 2015 ending in the quarterfinals with a loss to Hilton and things were looking up.  Full Story

Canandaigua Dedicating to 2020 Seniors

Canandaigua is one of the top teams in Class B, but there are a lot of them, as the class is the most competitive that the section as seen and quite a while. The Canandaigua schedule is full of good games against teams like Penn Yan, Corning, Ithaca, and Victor, but they really don't have any easy ones.  Full Story

Wayne Excited to be Back on the Field

Wayne is a respected program in the Finger Lakes and in Class C as they have seen continual growth in the program in the last few years. Although they were finalist in the Sectional tournament in 2018 and 2019, they have be unable to bring home the block. There have been several close games against Geneva so it is clear that the Eagles can win against the Panthers.  Full Story

YOUTH Officials Training Available

The Rochester Area Boys Lacrosse Officials Association provides US Lacrosse Jr. Official's Certification training, loaner equipment for new candidates and referee assigning services for boy's youth level games and tournaments. Candidates must be at least 14 years old, US Lacrosse Members and must complete the 2021 US Lacrosse Youth Rules Online course prior to attending the 1st training clinic.

Youth OfficialsTo learn more please register at WWW.RABLOA.ORG for one of the upcoming Intro to Refereeing Zoom clinics on April 8th or 14th at 7PM. After registering, the candidate will receive the US Lacrosse Youth Rules Course link, USL Youth Rules book (pdf) and other training materials. In addition to basic rules, field positions and US Lacrosse Certification process. The program will address game dates, how to be assigned games, the game fee payment process as well as estimated the 1st year expenses. Full Story

Dan Stone is Victor Head Coach

Victor Athletic Director Duane Weimer has announced that Dan Stone will be Victor's new boys Head Lacrosse Coach. A twenty-five-year educator, Coach Stone has taught in Victor for eighteen years and has been the Head Modified Coach for seventeen. He currently teaches the sixth grade. Full Story
