Pittsford dodged the bullet this afternoon with an double overtime win against a determined Webster Thomas. Fairport and Penn Yan, the only undefeated teams left in the Section won their games. Full Story

Thursday: Pittsford over McQuaid 7-6

There were 16 games in the Section today. Several were close and a number were not. Pittsford beat a determined McQuaid Jesuit 7-6. Waterloo beat Wayne 3-1. Full Story

Friday: Hilton and Midlakes Win Today

The Hamburg at Canandaigua game was cancelled due to field conditions and concerns about thunderstorms. It has been rescheduled to Tuesday. Two games were played however. Hilton beat the Greece Thunder 20-3 and Midlakes defeated Batavia 15-10. Full Story

SUNY Cortland's Mike Tota Breaks Record

On last Wednesday afternoon, former Webster Schroeder player, Mike Tota scored three goals for the Red Dragons to break SUNY Cortland's all-time career goals record with 165. Full Story

Monday: McQuaid, Gananda and Whitman Win

Three games were played in the section today. Gananda beat Midlakes 14-1. Marcus Whitman beat Mynderse 19-9 and McQuaid Jesuit posted 26-6 against Bishop Kearney. Full Story

Thursday: Irondequoit over Pittsford 7-6

In a game that went right to last minute, Irondequoit defeated Pittsford 7-6. Fairport won a 5-2 victory over visiting Penn Yan. Thomas beat Brighton 8-6 and HF-L took at 9-8 win from Webster Schroeder. Penfield won their game with Canandaigua 10-6. Full Story

Friday: Hamburg over Canandaigua 13-8

After rescheduling for the third time, Hamburg (Section VI) finally made it to Canandaigua and came away with a 13-9 victory tonight. Full Story

Mynderse Game to support Transverse Myelitis

The Mynderse Boys Varsity Lacrosse team will be sponsoring a "TM awareness" game on Tuesday May 15th, at 5:00 pm against Haverling. The boys hope to bring awareness to TM and raise TM awarenessmoney to support the TM Foundation. Full Story

Saturday: Fairport over C-C, Thomas takes Webster Win

It was a beautiful day for lacrosse and six games were played. Most of the games were overmatches, with the closest game being Marcus Whitman over Wayne 8-4. Full Story

Monday: Waterloo Comes Back for Win

Marcus WHitman led for most of the game but a strong surge by the Indians gave them an 8-6 win on Senior night. The Greece Lightning won their first game of the season with a 10-5 win over Batavia. The other winners were Pal-Mac, Haverling, Victor and Hilton. Full Story

Tuesday: Fairport Tops Pittsford 9-1

The surprise results of the night was Fairport's dramatic win against Pittsford as the Raiders won 9-1. In other parts of the Section, Pal-Mac's Ben Reeves and Spencerport's Matt Kaser both broke the 100 point mark for the season. Full Story

Wednesday: Lightning, ER and Mynderse Win

There were three games on Wednesday afternoon. The two Greece teams played with Arc/Oly taking a 16-7 win. East Rochester beat Batavia 12-9 and Mynderse was a 9-7 winner over Bishop Kearney. Full Story

Thursday: Fairport Remains Undefeated at 16-0

Fairport took a 7-1 lead on their way to a 8-5 win over visiting Irondequoit to preserve their perfect regular season (16-0). Victor defeated Pittsford 13-12, Penfield beat Orchard Park 13-8, Newark beat B-H, Arc/Oly took out Eastridge 9-6 and Aquinas beat Canisius 4-3. Full Story

Friday: Penn Yan over Thomas - HFL over Whitman

There were two games played tonight and only two more games left in the regular season (which will be played tomorrow). Penn Yan beat Thomas 12-4 and HF-L beat Marcus Whitman 15-4. Both games were played under the lights. Full Story

Saturday: Penfield over Pittsford As Season Ends

Penfield scored eight late goals to overcome a strong Pittsford performance and defeat the Panthers 16-13. In the last game of the season St. Francis (Section VI) defeated Bishop Kearney. All Section Five teams will now await the Seeding Meeting. Full Story

The Head Coaches of Section Five met on Sunday afternoon to listen to the presentations on twenty-seven players who had been nominated for All-America Team honors. The awards, sponsored by US Lacrosse, identify some of the best players from each area of the country. Full Story

All three top seeds will wear the home whites on Tuesday when they play for their Section Five titles. Fairport beat Hilton tonight and will play Penfield for beat Pittsford. Irondequoit beat Victor tonight and will play Canandaigua who beat Churchville-Chili and Penn Yan was the winner over HF-L which puts them up against Livonia who defeated Aquinas tonight. Full Story
