Irondequoit Takes McQuaid in Overtime
DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - There were two games played today. Jonah Carrier scored the winning goal in overtime to end the undefeated season for McQuaid. In the only other game, the Lakers beat Marcus Whitman.
MCQUAID JESUIT-6 at IRONDEQUOIT-7 in overtime - In a very close game throughout, the Eagles scored the only two goals in the first quarter. The Knights came back with three including one by Eoin Meyer on a pass from AJ Quagrello with 20 seconds left and the half ended with a 3-3 tie.McQuaid scored first in the third, but it was their only goal, while Irondequoit came back with two to take the lead once again up 5-4 after three quarters. Cooper Moore scored a side arm shot after a feed from Oliver Grisdale at 4:41 tying the game at 4-4 and then Moore scored again (unassisted) with seven seconds left in the third. Irondequoit extended their lead early in the last quarter, but John Harding got the Knights back to within one with an unassisted goal with 5:50 left in regulation. The game was tied at 6-6 with an unassisted goal from Vincenzo Giangreco after running full field with 26 seconds left. At regulation the teams were tied at 6-6.
The Eagles defended against the McQuaid man up unit on an Eagle penalty that was carried over from the third quarter. Then at 2:20 Jonah Carrier scored the game winner with a hard side-arm from the right front. McQuaid ended their winning streak at 11-1 while Irondequoit (10-2) extended their winning streak to seven wins. Scoring for Irondequoit were Cooper Moore (5g), Oliver Grisdale (2a), Ben Wilson (4a), and Carrier (2g) who also won 11+/5-=69% of his faceoffs. Irondequoit goalie Sven Habitzreuther recorded 8s/6ga = 57% (50 mins). Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit were Vincenzo Giangreco (3g), Eoin Meyer (2g), John Harding (1g-1a), AJ Quagrello (2a), and Liam Palmer (1a). Will Gordon made 7s/7ga = 50% (50 mins). [ BOX SCORE]

MARCUS WHITMAN-1 at LIVONIA-AVON-10 - The Lakers extended their record to 6-4 with a win today. Leading the scoring for Livonia-Avon were Max McEnerney (4g-1a), Henry Walters (3g), and Rider VanZandt (2g) who also won 7+/4- = 64% at the faceoff "X". Laker goalkeeper Colton Rose made 7s/0ga = 100% (32 mins), and Ayden Szymanski made 2s/1ga = 67% (16 mins). Sophomore midfielder Tariku Blueye scored for the Wildcats with an assist from Logan Storms. Whitman is at Midlakes on Monday and Livonia is at HFL on Saturday. [ BOX SCORE]
