Callahan, who in three games this season has won 58/66 (88%) faceoffs also scored 2g-1a. The game started even, with three ties before Victor took a lead at 4-3 and did not let go. # 3097 Penfield Wins in Overtime Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: It took overtime for Penfield to defeat The Panthers 12-11 tonight on the road. With Pittsford up 11-7 at the top of the fourth quarter but starting with 5:08 left in the game, Penfield scored four unanswered goals to tie the game at 11-11 with 2:11 left. With 2:04 left in overtime, senior attackman Sam Cummings scored the game-winner with an assist from Jake Fox. Cummings ended the game with 4g and senior midfielder Chris Smith added 3g-2a. John Richiusa gave the Patriots lots of ball time as he won 23/27 faceoffs. Pittsford senior attackman Harrison Cross led scoring with 2g-2a and junior James Cook added 3g for the Panthers (2-2) who will play R-H on Wednesday. Hilton stayed close the entire game and didn't take their first lead until 4:02 left in the game as they won a 12-11 at Brighton. Their strong win was on the backs of Devin Kluth (2g-2a) and Matthew Mojsej (2g-3a). Brighton's stand-out performance was from Sam Tourangeau at the draw (20/25) and on offense (2g-2a). # 3051 Hilton Wants to Continue Momentum Hilton has a good mix of games they should win and those that be more challenging. 2019 was a great year for the Cadets with a 14-3 record that took them all the way to the Class A championship game where they lost to Fairport. They will play both Fairport and Pittsford in the regular season and could face one or both in the tournament. They will also play McQuaid Jesuit in the regular season and could see them at the end of the year as well. |

The Most Valuable Player in Class A was Colin Peers (Fairport), in Class C, Sam Miller (Geneva), in Class D, Connor Fingar (Penn Yan) and in Class B, Jack LaRue (Victor). Players were selected on the basis of their performances in the Section Five Tournaments. |
# 2923 Fairport Wins First Title Since 2014 After losses in the Championship games to Penfield (9-8) last season and Pittsford (9-5) two years ago, the Red Raiders were bent on getting their first Section Five Title since 2014. Fairport scored five goals in the second half while holding the Hilton offense scoreless to defeat the Cadets 9-4. Key players in the success were face-off midfielder Jake Knapp and sophomore midfielder Rob Crowley. Crowley finished with 4g on the night and Knapp finished at 8/13 at the face-off. Both were named to the All Tournament Team for Fairport. Knapp’s success was even more impressive based on Hilton face-off midfielder Shawn Doran’s season. Doran finished the season at 82% with 306 wins. Before tonight, he had never had less than 50% day at the faceoff. Doran, for his performance throughout the Tournament was also named to the All Tournament Team. |

Of the rest, Hilton, for the first time in program history, beat Fairport 9-8, despite a last quarter surge by the Red Raiders. The Cadets led 4-3 at the half and then scored five goals in the third to end the quarter up 9-4. The offense of Hilton was spread between eight players with Matthews Mojsej leading with 1g-2a. Ben Metrano, Brenden Howell and Michael Galante each added two goals while Clayton Duford recorded 9s (53%) for Hilton (8-3). Klay Stuvert and Colin Peers each had 3g-2 for Faiport (8-2) |
# 2832 Hilton Wins in Overtime Hilton fought back from an early deficit to defeat Penfield 8-7 in the first overtime period. The Cadets scored the game winning goal 3:28 into the first overtime period with an unassisted goal from Brenden Howell. The Cadets controlled the ball for the majority of overtime and didn’t allow the Patriots a shot at the cage in overtime. Hilton scored three of the final four goals in the game after trailing 0-3 after the first 10 minutes. |
