Wednesday: DAY IN REVIEW: The quarter finals were played today, and there were fourteen winners and fourteen teams that ended their seasons. Following the season trend, almost all were mismatches with only the Irondequoit at Thomas game close, for most of the game. As expected, all the higher seeded teams won today and the top four seeded teams are now set for the semifinals.

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: It was the last day in the regular season and six games were played. It was Canandaigua over Penn Yan 9-3 and so for 2021 there are no undefeated teams. Gananda travelled to Medina for a 19-12 win. HF-L had a 14-10 win against Schroeder and Hilton surprised Spencerport with a 13-12 win. Tournament seeding will take place late Saturday or early Sunday.

Friday: DAY IN REVIEW: In another exciting game, Victor beat Thomas with three goals in the last quarter to remain undefeated with the 9-6 victory at home. Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: It took overtime for Penfield to defeat The Panthers 12-11 tonight on the road. With Pittsford up 11-7 at the top of the fourth quarter but starting with 5:08 left in the game, Penfield scored four unanswered goals to tie the game at 11-11 with 2:11 left. With 2:04 left in overtime, senior attackman Sam Cummings scored the game-winner with an assist from Jake Fox. Cummings ended the game with 4g and senior midfielder Chris Smith added 3g-2a. John Richiusa gave the Patriots lots of ball time as he won 23/27 faceoffs. Pittsford senior attackman Harrison Cross led scoring with 2g-2a and junior James Cook added 3g for the Panthers (2-2) who will play R-H on Wednesday. Penfield bumps to 4-0 and will play Canandaigua on Wednesday.[BOX SCORE]

EDITOR'S NOTE: This weekly summary touches on some of the games played in the recent past and highlights some games of interest in the current week. For more in-depth coverage, click on the DAY OF THE WEEK for more coverage for that day, including box scores, articles, and galleries.

There were sixty-one games played lsince the start of games on April 29th and although there were some exciting ones the majority were mismatches, demonstrating that some players worked more than others in the "year without games". With travel concerns at the moment there are only eight out of section games scheduled and four have been played. Section Five has won all four.

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Webster Thomas scored the first goal of the game and although Fairport quickly tied it, the Titans went ahead early in the second quarter and never gave up the lead in their 7-5 win at Fairport this afternoon. The spectators saw a very defensive game with Titan senior goalie Ethan Ruller making All-American saves and Fairport junior goalie McLean Ralston making 12s (63%).

The Canandaigua schedule is full of good games against teams like Penn Yan, Corning, Ithaca, and Victor, but they really don't have any easy ones.

# 2916  Canandaigua Heads to Finals for First Time Since 2017

In the first quarter, the scoring was limited with Thomas adding the lone goal.  Ryan Prine scored off a dodge along the right side to near the crease.  He finished into the net to put the Titans up with 4:31 remaining.  The Titans held that lead into the end of the quarter (1-0).  In the second quarter, Canandaigua added all the goals while holding Thomas scoreless.  There were three goals for the Braves.  The first two began with drives from behind the cage.  Tyler Goode drove from behind and after the slide, dropped the ball off to Aaron D’Agostino for a cross crease goal.  Two minutes later, they scored on another drive from behind.  This time, Mark Belles drove from behind and finished himself to give the Braves their first lead of the game.  The third goal came only 20 seconds later.  After a technical face-off win, the Braves quickly pushed the ball upfield and Casey Herod fed the ball to Dom Comella for the goal.  Canandaigua held the 3-1 lead going into halftime.  Between a patient Thomas offense and a strong Canandaigua defense, the Titans only put one shot on the cage (the goal) in the entire first half.
