Pal-Mac Takes Wayne

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: After three lead changes, Gates Chili came alive after halftime and scored four third quarter goals to cement their 12-9 win at Brockport. Senior attackman Brady Knauf had 6g-3a and Ethan Knauf had 3g-4a for the Spartans whose junior goalkeeper Nathan Weise recorded 21s/9ga (70%) in the game. Wayne at Pal-MacAlthough Irondequoit scored the first two goals and led 3-1 after the first quarter, Victor went right to work and scored in batches throughout the rest of the game which they won 17-7 at home. Leading the Blue Devil scoring were Cal Lambert with 5g-2a and Thomas Gravino with 3g. Logan Callahan won 21/24 draws and scored 1g for Victor (4-0). Seven different players from Irondequoit scored 1g each and Noah Gibson added 1g-2a for the Eagles. [BOX SCORE]

Webster Thomas scored the first ten unanswered goals on their way to a 16-3 win over visiting Greece this afternoon. Eight different Titans scored one goal each and junior middie Ethan Shappee scored 3g-1a while junior attackman Evan Pashalidis posted 2g-31. Thomas remains unbeaten with 7-0 while Greece falls to 4-3. [BOX SCORE]

Wayne at Pal-MacSophomore M/A Jackson McEnerney led the scoring with 3g-1a for Livonia-Avon in their 17-0 win over Batavia this morning. Ten other Lakers made the offensive scorebook and Matthew Connor won all 13 of his faceoffs while picking up a team leading 19 gbs. This was the fifth winning game in a row for the Lakers (6-3) and they will play Waterloo on Tuesday. [BOX SCORE]

In a a game that was closer than they score indicated, Pal-Mac took a 7-4 win from Wayne this morning in Palmyra. The Red Raiders were up 4-2 at the half and after three quarters they were up 5-4. In a close fourth quarter the ball moved up and down the field until Pal-Mac scored one more. Wayne pulled their goalie in an effort to get the ball, but Pal-Mac scored their last goal in an open net. Key to the victory were eleven faceoff wins by junior Quinn Nolan who had 3g-1a as well. In five seven games Nolan has 84 winning draws (85%). Logan Babcock had 2g-2a and Will Nichols made 10s/4ga (71%) for the Red Raiders (6-1). After at 9-2 half, McQuaid Jesuit took an 11-3 win from Hilton this afternoon. Scoring was spread between seven Knights most of whom had at least two goals. Max Ettinghausen led with 2g-3a and Mike Hazard had 3g-1a while Connor Winters made 12s/3ga (80%) for the Knights (3-1). Kyle Jenson scored two goals for the Cadets (4-4). [BOX SCORE]

Canandaigua improved their record to 6-0 after defeating Ithaca (Section IV) this afternoon. Dom Comella had 3g-1a, Sam Bennett had 3g and Spin Blazak had 2g-1a for the Braves who will play Pittsford on Monday. [BOX SCORE]
