Sunday: Victor`s Fabulous Streak Ends at 50 Wins

The longest win streak in Section Five ended today with a one goal loss by Victor to Brother Rice on Michigan. The Warriors scored first and then the game saw a series of runs. Victor put six in a row to lead 6-2 and after exchanging goals, Brother Rice put five together to take an 8-7 lead. Full Story

Saturday: CA and Penn Yan Win Out of Section Games

DAY IN REVIEW: Canandaigua saw four lead changes but managed to win their game with Brother Rice from Michigan (5-3). Devin Andrews (2g-1a) scored the winning goal with 4:09 left in regulation. Mark Belles scored 3g and Mitch Pfeiffer added 1g-2a for the Braves (6-2). Tim Rice made 10s (71%) and Brandon Moore recorded 6s (67%) for CA. Full Story

Friday: Penfield Rallies for Comsewogue Win

DAY IN REVIEW: After five ties, Penfield took off in the last quarter scoring four unanswered goals to take a victory, this afternoon, at Comsewogue (Section XI). Six different players made the offensive book for the Patriots. Leading the pack was Joey Barboza with 3g-3a. Senior midfielder Peter Schwab was the ground ball leader with nine. Victor Wins 50th Straight

Over the past 50 contests, the Victor Blue Devils have never lost.  Victor scored the game winning goal with only 0:50 remaining in the game to defeat Loyola Academy 5-4. Over the last 50 games the Blue Devils have won by an average of 9.7 goals per game; for only the second time the game was decided by a single goal.  The first time was against Pittsford on May 7,2015 and the Blue Devils needed overtime to secure their 14th straight win (HERE). Thursday: Victor Streak Now 50 Games

Fifty seconds made the difference and allowed Victor to continue its winning streak to fifty. Connor Kennan scored with an assist from Sam Lambert to give Victor a 5-4 win at home this morning. Although the Blue Devils took an early lead, scoring the first three goals, Loyola Academy returned to tie the game at 4-4 in the third quarter. Section XI's West Islip hosted Penfield this afternoon and defeated the Patriots 8-7.  The Lions have won all three times that they have faced Penfield over the last four years.  West Islip is currently 7-1 this season. Full Story

Wednesday: Fairport Takes Out Ithaca

Fairport (4-1) used a five goal second quarter to spoil the perfect record of host Ithaca (7-1) this afternoon. Senior goalie Jake Santini had an impressive fourteen save day (78%) in the cage for the Red Raiders who saw TJ Hendricks lead the offense with 3g-1a. Brine Upstate New York regional tryouts scheduled for Sunday, April 23 at Pittsford Sutherland High School. There will be three grade specific tryout sessions for boys 2023-2024, 2021-2022 and 2018-2019-2020. Full Story

Kay Scores in Overtime

Jonathan Kay scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period off an assist from Collin Griffin.  Webster Schroeder defeated Hilton 9-8.  The Warriors forced the overtime with 1:44 remaining in the fourth quarter. Full Story

Monday: Churchville-Chili Wins First Game

The Saints have been playing a brutal scheduled, but, in the only game played today, Churchville-Chili defeated Bloomfield-Honeoye. Leading the offensive book was Corey Yunker (6g-3a). Mike Miara made 4s (80%) in the cage. The Saints will player Rush-Henrietta next week. Jon Marble scored for the Pride who will take on Avon tomorrow. Full Story

10Th Annual JMJ Tournament Info

The 10th Annual Jeff Milano-Johnson Memorial Lacrosse Tournament is set for Sunday, June 4th at Rochester Regional Health`s Total Sports Experience. The Jeff Milano-Johnson Memorial Fund / Rochester Kids provides scholarships to kids graduating from the City of Rochester, support for city lacrosse including ROCE6 and a new city-suburban partnership called ROCKidsConnect. The Tournament is both a celebration of Jeff’s love for the game and a fundraiser for these programs. Full Story

Saturday: Four Games with Out of Section Teams

The four games played today were with out of section teams, and Section Five won two and lost two. Baldwinsville senior Ryan Gebhardt scored 8g-1a in their win against Irondequoit. Hilton traveled to Oswego for their 14-7 win which featured eleven players making the offensive scorebook. Jordan DePetres led the group with 2g-1a and Shawn Doran led the ground ball effort with eight. Full Story

It was a full day of lacrosse today with fifteen games played by twenty-nine Section Five teams. Irondequoit won a close game with Canandaigua as junior midfielder Kessel Stefano scored with 9.2 seconds left to secure the 12-11 win at home. Full Story

Wednesday: Wayne Over Marcus Whitman

Wayne Central (3-1) scored seven goals in the first quarter before defeating Marcus Whitman in a Finger Lakes League game. Eleven different players made the offensive scorebook and Zach Boyatzies lead the list with 2g-4a. Wayne senior goalie Jared Laird scored his first Varsity goals in the game and posted 2s (65%) in the cage. Seth Benedict scored 4g-1a for the Wildcats. Full Story

Bloomfield Honeoye scored six straight goals spanning the first and second quarters on their way to a 8-5 win over Newark.  The Pride were led in scoring by Alex Roach with 4g-2a. Full Story

Aquinas Takes off in Second Half

Aquinas took off in the second half and outscored Nichols 8-4 in the second half on their way to a 13-8 win over the Big Green.  In the first three quarters, both teams were back and forth and remained within two goals until the final minute of the third quarter. Full Story

Thomas Surges in Fourth Quarter

Thomas scored seven of the last eight goals to defeat Fairport 15-10.  The Titans increase their record to 5-1 with the win.  Over the first three quarters the score was never more than 2 goals apart with the game tied seven times.  However, Thomas scored four unanswered goals to start the final quarter and take the largest lead of the game 13-9.  The Red Raiders could not come back and only added a single goal in the fourth. Bush Leads Gananda to Win

Henry Bush finished with 3g for Gananda in their 12-9 win over Midlakes.  The Blue Panthers scored the first goal and led throughout with only a single tie in the third quarter.  Gananda has defeated Midlakes all 10 times that the teams have face.  This year's 3 goals differential was the closest in history. Tuesday: Spencerport, HF-L and Pittsford Remain Undefeated

Of the dozen games played today, three teams held on to their undefeated season with wins today. Spencerport took their record to 5-0 with their win over Eastridge who played a close half (8-6). Jonathan Agness led the Rangers with 3g-6a. Andrew Doktor recorded 4g for the Lancers. Note: Victor (4-0) is also undefeated. Full Story

Monday: Midlakes, Victor and Wayne Win

DAY IN REVIEW: Mid seventy degrees was a rare treat for the players in the three games played today. Midlakes (5-0) won it's fifth game in a row when they traveled to Bloomfield Honeoye. The Macdonell boys took care of most of the scoring as Ryan posted 7g and Brandon added 3g-3a. Zach Davison recorded 13 saves (59%) for the Eagles.
