Saturday: CA and Penn Yan Win Out of Section Games

DAY IN REVIEW: Canandaigua saw four lead changes but managed to win their game with Brother Rice from Michigan (5-3). Devin Andrews (2g-1a) scored the winning goal with 4:09 left in regulation. Mark Belles scored 3g and Mitch Pfeiffer added 1g-2a for the Braves (6-2). Tim Rice made 10s (71%) and Brandon Moore recorded 6s (67%) for CA.

The Mustangs fought back from a 1-3 deficit in the first quarter and held Clarence scoreless in the second half in their 5-4 win with the Section VI Class A Red Devils (4-3). Ben Emerson (1g-3a) was in on four out of five goals. Colton Smith scored 3g and Dylan Stape scored 1g. Goalie Kyle Welker recorded 6s (60%).

Webster Schroeder held Wayne scoreless in the first half of their game. Conor Bollin scored 2g-2a to lead the Warriors offense and Jake McGrath made 9s (69%). Marcus Whitman played a close game with Watkins Glen and in the end gave the Senecas their first win of the season. Seth Benedict (3g-1a) led the scoring for the Wildcats. Michael Dhondt recorded 13s (52%) for Whitman. Webster Thomas scored the first goal and held on the lead throughout their win over visiting Baldwinsville (6-2) of Section III. The Bees scored five unanswered goals in the last quarter. Nick Mabe and Brad Smith each scored 2g-1a for the Titans. Joe Luconte won 13 of 17 face offs for Thomas. Ryan Gebhardt had 3g for the Bees.

Other games saw Eastridge defeating Livonia with Andrews Doktor scoring 6g-2a for the Lancers. Jamesville-DeWitt came to town and beat Fairport behind 5g-3a from Ryan Archer. Kyle McAvoy led the Red Raider scoring with 4g. The Schuylerville Black Horses fell to Pal-Mac, Aquinas beat Canisius and Haverling defeated Chenango Valley. Connor DiDomineck (3g-4a) and Connor Cup (6g) led the offense for the Rams against Chenango Valley (3-2) while Tyler Fitch led in ground balls with six and Trey Kinner had 6s (55%) in the cage.
