Tuesday: Spencerport, HF-L and Pittsford Remain Undefeated
DAY IN REVIEW: Of the dozen games played today, three teams held on to their undefeated season with wins today. Spencerport took their record to 5-0 with their win over Eastridge who played a close half (8-6). Jonathan Agness led the Rangers with 3g-6a. Andrew Doktor recorded 4g for the Lancers. Note: Victor (4-0) is also undefeated.
HF-L also moved to 5-0 with their win over the Thunder. Twelve different players made the offensive book, with Andrew Mapstone leading with 3g-2a and Garrett Ruff adding 3g.
Pittsford moved to 4-0 with their win at Rush-Henrietta. Thirteen players made the Panther offensive book which featured Colby Barker (3g-2a).
Canandaigua had an advantage with the face off work from Joe Post who was 18/25 at the draw and picked up 12 gbs. He was helped with good LSM play by Sam Burley and Josh Bellis who each picked up 4gbs. Senior attackman Devin Andrews set a new school record for points in a game with 6a-7a. The record was previous held by Billy Scharr in 1986 and Matt Groot in 2001.
Webster Thomas won their game with Fairport with a four goal run the last quarter. Most of the scoring came from Matt Hill (5g-1a) and Trevor Hill (5-3). Reese Burek led the Red Raider offense with 3g-2a.
Newark scored four goals in a row to erase a five goal deficit but goals by Alex Roach (4g) and Jon Marble (2g) gave Bloomfield Honeoye the 8-5 win at home. Cotton Welch won 10/14 face offs for the Pride while defenseman Jake Davis and Marble led the ground ball game with seven each. Deven Campbell made 8s (62%) for B-H and Talyn Pierce made 10s (56%) for the Reds.
Gananda played a close game with Midlakes and broke ahead from a 7-7 tie in the third quarter to secure a 12-9 win at home. Nine players made the Blue Panther book with attackman Henry Bush leading with 3g while Jason Good made 14s (61%) in the cage. Midlakes saw 3g-4a from attackman Ryan Macdonell.
Others winning games today were Geneva, Aquinas, Gates Chili, Penfield and Pal-Mac.
