Thomas 15 - Brighton 9

In a game that was closer than the score shows, Webster Thomas defeated Brighton 15-9. The Titans scored five of the last six goals spanning the last quarter and a half. The Barons were only down by two goals (10-8) when Thomas started a five goal streak. Three goals came in the last three minutes of the third quarter and two more to start the fourth quarter. Fairport Gets Shutout Over Ithaca

Fairport won for the first time since 2012 in their 13-0 win over Ithaca. The Red Raiders had 31 players with at least 1 statistic and 12 players make their offensive scorebook. Justin Kesselring led Fairport with 3g-2a. Joey Scalise, Tyler Wetzel and Matt Hawk all spent time in the cage to secure the shutout.  Full Story

There were some interesting scores today. The three highest scoring games were played today, as Medina beat Batavia 23-11 (34 pts), Victor beat Corning 16-15 (31 pts) and Spencerport beat Williamsville North 16-14 (30 pts). Full Story

Big Celebration of 50 Years of Lacrosse in Webster

There will be a full day of lacrosse in Webster on Saturday, May 10th as the community celebrates their fiftieth anniversary of lacrosse in the town. Of course there will be games played at all levels, starting with K-2, 3-4 and 5-6 youth games for both boys and girls starting at 9:00 am.  Full Story

Wayne scored five of the first six goals and held off a late push by Geneva to defeat the Panthers 9-8. The Panthers scored the first goal with Kyle Cosentino scoring unassisted. Williamsville North (Section 6) started off strong with the first three goals, but Spencerport fought back with a four goal run followed by a five goal run in their 16-14 win over the Spartans. Victor 16 - Corning 15

The 9-4 Corning Hawks (Section IV) traveled to Victor for their third contest of the season against Section Five teams. In all three cases, the Hawks played a one goal game against the local boys. Victor came out on top today, winning 16-15. Corning had previously defeated Churchville-Chili (10-9) and lost to Pittsford (11-10). Full Story

Eastridge scored the last two goals of the contest to secure an 8-7 win over Greece Arcadia/Olympia. Overall the contest was an even match with both teams having opportunities to secure the victory. Freshman attackman Donovan Fagan assisted Andrew Doktor for the final goal of the contest for the Lancer win. Fagan finished with 1g-2a in only his second game on Varsity. Full Story

Big Save by Kelly Gives Win to HF-L

NOTES: Bryce Kelly made his 100th save of the season with seconds left on the clock to secure the 9-8 win for HF-L over Brighton. The Cougar scored the last four goals of the contest and held Brighton scoreless for the final 16:48 in their win. Kelly had an impressive game between the pipes with twelve saves and finished at 60%. Offensively, the Cougars looked to midfielder Alex Mapstone (4g-2a), attackmen Ryan Kelly (2g-2a) and Tim Breau (2g-2a). All nine of the goals by the Cougars were assisted goals. Full Story

Canandaigua has reached the Sectional Championship game 13 times and Churchville-Chili has only reached it once and the Braves demonstrated tonight that they know how to win in Sectionals. The Braves defeated the Saints 14-12 after trailing 0-4 in the first quarter. Full Story

The three top seeds won their trips to Buffalo today as Fairport scored four goals in the last five minutes of the game to defeat Pittsford 7-6. Penn Yan was a 17-5 winner over Pal-Mac and Victor played a close game with Canandaigua, eventually winning 12-8.  Full Story

After last year`s heart felt triple overtime loss to the Braves, Victor came to play and defeated Canandaigua 12-8. The Braves led for most of the first quarter. The Blue Devils scored the opening goal of the second quarter to take their first lead of the game and never looked back. Full Story

For the fourth time, Section Five selected first and second team All-Section players. The 2014 first team lists sixteen players and includes the ten All-Americans previously announced."It`s always difficult to choose from so many talented players," said Section Five Chairman, Mike Simon. To be nominated each player was required to be selected to their first team all league (except Independent teams). Full Story
