However, they responded with seven goals and controlled the pace of the entire game. The Huskers added two goals in the third, but they never came back within range. The Blue Devils were led in scoring by Class B Offensive MVP Alexander Mabbett with 2g-2a. Matt Gardner was named Defensive Player of the Game. |
# 1270 Victor Looks for Third Straight State Title Victor advanced to their third straight State Finals with an 11-5 win over Vestal (Section IV). The Blue Devils are the two-time defending State Champions and are looking for their third straight win. Victor will face Yorktown (Section I). The Huskers defeated Garden City 5-4 in double overtime to advance. Yorktown also returns to the State Finals (they lost 9-6 to JD last season). Victor came out of the gate strong and scored the first five goals to lead 5-0 with 4:50 remaining in the opening quarter. |
# 1268 Looking Ahead: Upstate Championships At this point only the final four are left and in each class there are two teams in the Upstate Tournaments and two are in the Downstate Tournaments. As Wednesday is a school day, the games have been split with the Class A and Class B games being played in Rochester (St. John Fisher College) and the Class C and Class D being played in Syracuse (CNS). Downstate , Class B and Class B will be played at SUNY Albany and the Class C and Class D games will be played at Adelphi University. The winners will play for the State Championships on Saturday at St. John Fisher College (Rochester). |

FM attempted a late comeback but could not tie the game again after 2-2 to end the first. The Blue Devils held off in the fourth quarter and did not allow a shot after the final FM goal (5:28 remaining in the fourth quarter). Victor had scoring from six different players, with Zach Estabrooks leading at 3g-1a. Tucker Hill had a good game at the face-off, finishing 11/16 with a team leading five ground balls. |

Victor controlled nearly the entire contest and led 6-1 with just over 2 minutes remaining in the contest. Zach Estabrooks score four goals for the Blue Devils and goalie Chayse Ierlan made 7s (70%) for Victor. There was a large crowd and Pittsford asked for a $2.00 donation in support of the National Wounded Warrior Foundation in the Shootout for Soldiers that will be hosted by Canandaigua this summer. |

After a third quarter where the Blue Devils failed to take a single shot, the Warriors fought back from a four goal deficit to tie the game at 7-7. They continued their scoring into the fourth quarter to lead by two with 2:30 left in the fourth quarter. |
