Thursday: Victor Takes Out Pittsford

DAY IN REVIEW: Victor defeated Pittsford for the fourth year and handed the Panthers their first loss of the season with their 6-3 win. Victor controlled nearly the entire contest and led 6-1 with just over 2 minutes remaining in the contest. Zach Estabrooks score four goals for the Blue Devils and goalie Chayse Ierlan made 7s (70%) for Victor. There was a large crowd and Pittsford asked for a $2.00 donation in support of the National Wounded Warrior Foundation in the Shootout for Soldiers that will be hosted by Canandaigua this summer.

The Greece Lightning defeated Brockport 10-7 in what was a close contest until the final quarter when Greece increased their lead to 10-5. Matt McHale led scoring with 3g-1a and Nicholas Chilano recorded 13 saves (65%) for the Lightning. It was a case of two halves as Gates Chili forced a tie at 5-5 in the second quarter and took off with five unanswered goals, before Spencerport made a strong comeback in the last quarter. Kyle Krystan (4g) and Nicholas Ehmann (2g-2a) led the offense for the Spartans. Jonathan Agness led the Rangers with 2g-3a.

McQuaid Jesuit took over in the fourth quarter and scored five of the last six to defeat Haverling 14-10. The four goal differential was the largest of the game. Jack Billitier scored four straight goals for the Knights (he finished with 7g-3a) in the fourth quarter. For Haverling, Tyler Finch led in scoring with 5g. Schroeder beat Brighton with Conor Bollin scoring 3g-2a and Antonio Deleo recording 7s (64%). Newark beat Marcus Whitman with Taylor Clements scoring 5g-1a.

Fairport (6-2) upended Canandaigua (6-4) with TJ Hendricks posting 5g-1a and Jake Santini recording 14s (70%) in the cage for the Red Raiders. Aquinas lost a close game with St. Joe`s. Cameron Cecere led AQ with 3g-1a. 

Also winning games were Penfield, Irondequoit (Gavin DiPaola scored his first Varsity goal.), Geneva, Pal-Mac and Wayne.
