# 3412 HFL Wins in Double Overtime for Second Championship in 3 Years After finishing as the runner-up last season, HFL came back to win their second Section Five Title in 3 years with a double overtime 9-8 win over Wayne. This was the first double overtime Finals matchup since Victor over Thomas in 2018. The Cougars’ Chase Perryman scored the game winner with 2:59 left in the second overtime period. Perryman was named the Class B Tournament MVP and finished the game with 4g-2a. | ||||

# 3379 A Full Day of Lacrosse at HFL Tonight’s 12-5 win for HFL over Livonia-Avon capped a long day of Lacrosse at HFL High School Field. There were multiple contests across all levels of boy’s and girl’s lacrosse raising awareness and donations for “Cancer Day”. In addition to today’s boy’s game, the girls defeated Horseheads 16-6 (HERE). Today’s contest was a vastly different game from the contest just last week between the same two teams. After a back-and-forth contest last Saturday, today’s match was much more one-sided. The Cougars took long stretches of possession and gave the Lakers very little time on offense. The Lakers attempted to use what opportunities they could get; however, it was not enough. There were standout performances from Livonia goalie Matt Beachel with 7 saves in the first quarter (10 total for the game), HFL attackman Chase Perryman with 4g-2a, and HFL face-off midfielder Drew Angelo. | ||||

Topping the list is Canandaigua's 4-3 win at Brighton where neither team scored in the second half. Pittsford took an early lead and then never gave it up in the 8-6 win over visiting Irondequoit and Spencerport held Fairport scoreless in two quarters in their 7-3 win at home. Penfield scored four unanswered goals in the first quarter and then coasted to their 11-7 win over visiting Schroeder. | ||||

# 3306 Pal-Mac Comes Back and Wins First Title Since 2017 After appearing in the finals the last two seasons, Pal-Mac came into tonight’s game looking for their first win since 2017. The Red Raiders fought back hard with last four goals of the game to defeat HF-L 8-5. A key factor in that win was Red Raider goalie Will Nichols. He finished the game with nine saves, including six in the first half and was named the All Tournament MVP for Class C. | ||||

Callahan, who in three games this season has won 58/66 (88%) faceoffs also scored 2g-1a. The game started even, with three ties before Victor took a lead at 4-3 and did not let go. Senior M/A Cal Lambert led the scoring for the Blue Devils with 3g-2a. Senior midfielder Alex Seiler added 2g-1 and five other players scored one goal. Fairport sophomore A/M Jackson Monte led in scoring for the Red Raiders with 2g-1a. Fairport (2-2) will play Penfield on Friday while Victor (3-0) is playing Irondequoit. # 3097 Penfield Wins in Overtime Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: It took overtime for Penfield to defeat The Panthers 12-11 tonight on the road. With Pittsford up 11-7 at the top of the fourth quarter but starting with 5:08 left in the game, Penfield scored four unanswered goals to tie the game at 11-11 with 2:11 left. With 2:04 left in overtime, senior attackman Sam Cummings scored the game-winner with an assist from Jake Fox. Cummings ended the game with 4g and senior midfielder Chris Smith added 3g-2a. John Richiusa gave the Patriots lots of ball time as he won 23/27 faceoffs. Pittsford senior attackman Harrison Cross led scoring with 2g-2a and junior James Cook added 3g for the Panthers (2-2) who will play R-H on Wednesday.
