After 30 straight wins, Canandaigua lost in a close game to Webster Thomas, 11-10 this afternoon. The Titans overcame a 5-4 halftime score with a strong third quarter and determination in the last quarter with the winning goal by TJ Hauck with twenty-five second left the regulation.

There were fifteen games played today in Section Five, a couple of close ones but mostly mismatches. Eastridge won their first game of the season using double overtime to defeat the Thunder 11-10. East Rochester beat Newark 8-7. All the other games were won by six goals.

There has been a great deal of talk about the Canandaigua-Fairport game and the game itself met all expectations. With neither team leading my more than two goals, and with Fairport sending the game into overtime with two goal scored in the last seconds of the game, the estimated eleven hundred lacrosse fans were treated to a great game.

Webster Schroeder ended their league season third in Monroe County Division I with a 6-4 record (8-8 overall). Seeded sixth in the Class A tournament the Warriors lost to third seeded Penfield in the quarterfinals 6-5 in overtime and finished as seeded. The Warriors had a hard fought game, but just couldn't come out on top to defeat the Patriots.

Greece Thunder (Athena/Odyssey) senior Gino Prestigiacomo recently announced his decision to continue his lacrosse career at the State University at Cortland next fall. The offensive player who has four year varsity experience, recorded 32g-26a (58 points) last year and has a career record of 82g-63a entering his last year with the Thunder. He has had three years with the Rochester Blaze team during his off-seasons.
