It was another exciting season for Section V lacrosse with 916 players on the final rosters, 308 regular season games played and 79 league games determined the league championships. Honeoye Falls-Lima (C) was the only top seed to win their championship. In the other three classes, the second-seeded teams won championships; Penfield in Class A, Victor in Class B and Penn Yan in Class D. Brayden Arber scored seven goals, coach Joe Sidari earned his 100th win at Bloomfield-Honeoye, and Jordan Lucas, Mason Whiting and Jason Ayers each recorded first career varsity scores as Bloomfield-Honeoye beat Medina 16-3 Saturday morning, with Caleb Beadnell also reaching 50 career assists.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Pittsford stayed perfect at 15-0 with an18-10 win over JD, Midlakes extended its winning streak to 11 with an 11-4 win over Aquinas, and Wayne rallied from two goals down in the final minutes to beat HF-L 11-10.

Nate Lathrop scored five goals and Walker Landschoot added six assists as Midlakes beat Bloomfield-Honeoye 22-5 Thursday evening to extend its winning streak to ten, with Colby Klatt scoring his first career varsity goal and Caleb Beadnell reaching 50 career assists for Bloomfield-Honeoye.

Ryland Dunham scored four goals and the Dunham boys combined for ten points as Geneva beat Bloomfield-Honeoye 16-7 Tuesday evening, with Gianni Velazquez scoring his first career varsity goal and both goalies, Ashton Breeze and Owen Marquart, each reaching 100 career saves.

Brayden Arber set a school record with 11 goals and Caleb Beadnell scored his 50th career goal and reached 100 career points as Bloomfield-Honeoye beat Tonawanda 18-3 Saturday morning, with Levi Warren also recording his first career varsity assist.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Saturday was defined by career milestones across the area. Bloomfield-Honeoye's Brayden Arber set a school record forcareer goals with 11 goals in an 18-3 win over Tonawanda.

Braiden Schneider and Brennan Thomas each scored four goals as Bloomfield-Honeoye rallied to beat Mynderse-Romulus 13-12 Thursday evening in a tournament game, with Colby Klatt and John Hample each recording their first career varsity assist.

Rider VanZandt scored five goals and reached 300 career faceoff wins as Livonia-Avon-Geneseo beat Bloomfield-Honeoye 11-8 Tuesday evening to extend its winning streak to eight games, with Brayden Arber's four goals and three assists from Will Schweitzer also standing out.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Tuesday's biggest moment came from Irondequoit's Doug Velepec, who scored in double overtime to edge McQuaid Jesuit 9-8 despite 25 saves from Jackson Paladino.

Today's action featured three wins, highlighted by Bloomfield-Honeoye's Brayden Arber reaching 100 career goals with a seven-goal effort in a 14-6 win over Gananda

Bloomfield-Honeoye opened its season with a 14-6 win over Gananda on Wednesday at R. Mann Elementary School.

Bloomfield_Honeoye enters the 2026 season following a strong 13–5 campaign in 2025. The team demonstrated consistency with twelve wins by more than five goals and two contests decided within five. 

In a dominant performance, HFL secured their third consecutive Sectional Championship with a commanding 19-7 victory over the previously undefeated Pal-Mac Red Raiders, marking their fourth title in program history. The Cougars set the tone early, jumping to a 5-0 lead and maintaining control throughout, led by standout sophomore Grady Goodberlet (6g-2a), who was named Class C All Tournament MVP. Teammates Marco Vangoechea (6g-1a) and Quinn Kailbourne (2g-4a) also played pivotal roles, while Jackson Dennie (3g) and Reid Diehl (1g-2a) led the Red Raiders' efforts. HFL’s strong defensive showing, highlighted by face-off battles and eight saves from goalie Jason Bennett, sealed the victory. The Cougars now advance to the Sub-regional round against Section VI Champion Hamburg on Wednesday at Canandaigua Academy. 

Bloomfield-Honeoye won the Section 5 semifinal against Midlakes with a 12-11 victory, capped off by Brennan Thomas’s winning goal with five seconds left. Tyler Bruder led the team with three goals, while John Blair assisted on four scores. Goalie Ethan Stoddard finished with a 54% save rate. The team advances to the Class D championship on Monday against Penn Yan.

Bloomfield-Honeoye defeated Marcus Whitman 16-8 in the Section 5 Quarterfinals after pulling away in the third quarter. John Blair and Brayden Arber led the offense, while Cody Whittaker won nearly every faceoff. Ayden Clark paced Marcus Whitman with four goals. Ethan Stoddard recorded 20 saves in the victory.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Fourteen games packed today's slate, with two close contests keeping fans on edge. Mynderse-Romulus secured a thrilling 15-14 victory over Bishop Kearney, fueled by Griffin Hilimire’s incredible 10-goal performance. Irondequoit pulled off the only upset of the day, edging Hilton in overtime 6-5, thanks to Colin Giudice’s game-winner. Pittsford’s 7-2 victory over Brighton marked a special milestone, as head coach Andrew Whipple secured his 250th career win.

There were thirty-four games played last week. There were sixty-six out of section games scheduled and 66 have been played. Section V teams won 41 and lost 25 (62% wins). There was one undefeated team for the regular season: Pal-Mac (14-0).

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Six games were played today, all decided by more than three goals, showcasing powerful performances across the board. Fairport edged out Penn Yan 12-8 in a closely contested battle, with Mitchell Monte leading the charge while Teagan Fingar reached a milestone with his 201st career goal. Meanwhile, McQuaid Jesuit made history with its first-ever victory over Thomas, 12-9, propelled by standout performances from John Burrows and Domenic Giangreco, who dominated faceoffs. 

Wayne rallied after a slow start to defeat Bloomfield-Honeoye 19-9 in a non-league matchup. Mason Michel led Wayne with six goals and three assists, and eighth-grade goalie Gavin Hamel posted a 68% save rate with 19 saves. Bloomfield-Honeoye’s leading scorer was Brayden Arber with four goals and three assists. Wayne extended its win streak over Bloomfield-Honeoye to 13 games and will enter the Class C tournament as the number 4 seed, while Bloomfield-Honeoye secured the number 3 seed in Class D.

Bloomfield-Honeoye earned a 19-1 victory over Batavia-Notre Dame in a non-league matchup. Eleven players scored for the home team, with Brayden Arber leading with four goals and one assist. Goalie Ethan Stoddard made eight saves for an 89 percent save rate. Batavia-Notre Dame’s lone goal was scored by Jon Smith, while goalie Branden Flanagan reached his 400th career save.

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Six games were played today, with two coming down to the wire. Pittsford edged out Canandaigua in a tense 11-10 battle, fueled by Grant Lewis’ four-goal effort and key saves by Bear Wehrheim. Meanwhile, Livonia-Avon-Geneseo survived a back-and-forth showdown against Marcus Whitman, pulling away late for a 15-10 victory. Elsewhere, Spencerport, Gates Chili, and Bloomfield-Honeoye secured decisive wins, with standout performances from Zach Tortora, Jayden Maryjanowski, and Brayden Arber, respectively. 

Bloomfield-Honeoye defeated Gates Chili 18-7 in a non-league matchup. John Blair led Bloomfield-Honeoye with six goals and six assists, while Jayden Maryjanowski scored four goals for Gates Chili. Goalie Ethan Stoddard had eight saves with 53% efficiency. Seven players contributed to Bloomfield-Honeoye’s scoring, and multiple athletes surpassed the 50-goal mark. Both teams will play again on May 21st.

Midlakes secured a 14-11 win against Bloomfield-Honeoye after overcoming an early deficit. Carter Casper led Midlakes with three goals and three assists, while goalie Stuart Quku recorded 16 saves. Bloomfield-Honeoye saw strong performances from Brayden Arber and Tyler Bruder, but Midlakes’ late surge ensured victory.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were eight intense matchups, with five games going down to the wire. Livonia-Avon-Geneseo edged out Mynderse-Romulus 14-13 in a thrilling overtime battle, powered by six goals from Max McEnerney and a decisive game-winner from freshman Will Schweitzer. Pal-Mac pulled off a dramatic 12-11 overtime victory against Geneva after Jackson Dennie’s seventh goal sealed the deal.

Bloomfield-Honeoye earned an 18-8 victory over Newark, with Cody Whittaker scoring five goals and John Blair contributing three goals and six assists. Whittaker also won 22 faceoffs with a 79 percent success rate. Newark’s Sam Underhill led his team with three goals, reaching his 150th career goal. In goal, Bloomfield-Honeoye’s senior Ethan Stoddard made nine saves and became the all-time saves leader, while Newark’s goalie Carter Bumpus recorded eight. Bloomfield-Honeoye moves to 9-2 and will face Midlakes next, while Newark, now 3-7, will host Wayne.

Bloomfield-Honeoye defeated Medina 12-5 in a non-league game on Saturday. The visiting team controlled the match from the start, scoring five goals in the first quarter and adding seven more before Medina put up five in the final period. Leading the offense, Brayden Arber scored four goals with one assist, while John Blair had two goals and four assists. Senior midfielder Cody Whittaker won twelve faceoffs, reaching his five hundred and eighth career win. In goal, Ethan Stoddard recorded ten saves with two goals allowed, and Brayden Butler added five saves with three goals allowed. Bloomfield-Honeoye will host Newark on May 13th.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Saturday saw 14 games played, with three matchups delivering nail-biting finishes. Hilton edged out Pittsford 11-10 in a league battle, propelled by standout performances from Gianluca Auriuso and Nicholas Presutti, while Pittsford’s Charlie Ryan contributed two goals and two assists. Irondequoit secured a hard-fought 7-5 win over Fairport, with Kieran Stenzel leading the way offensively. Watkins Glen rounded out the close contests with a 9-7 victory over Waterloo. Meanwhile, the remaining 11 games showcased dominant performances, including Canandaigua extending their winning streak, Gananda putting on a scoring clinic, and Schroeder rallying for a comeback victory. 

Geneva claimed a 15-5 win over Bloomfield-Honeoye in a non-league matchup, led by five goals from Ryland Dunham. Brent Williams finished with a 71% save percentage in net for Geneva, while Bloomfield-Honeoye's Ethan Stoddard recorded his 400th career save in the loss. Both teams prepare for their next matchups on Saturday.

Bloomfield-Honeoye defeated Livonia-Avon-Geneseo 15-9 in an FL-D1 league matchup. John Blair, who set a new school record for assists and points, led with four goals and six assists, while Tyler Bruder added five goals. Goaltender Ethan Stoddard recorded eight saves. Livonia-Avon-Geneseo’s offense was led by Max McEnerney with three goals, and goaltender Colton Rose posted 23 saves with a 61% save rate and passed his 400th save milestone.

Pal-Mac remained undefeated with a 21-9 win over Bloomfield-Honeoye in an FL-D1 league game. Despite early struggles, Bloomfield-Honeoye rallied in the fourth quarter, with key contributions from Cody Whittaker, Braiden Schneider, and Brennan Thomas. Goalie Ethan Stoddard made nine saves. Pal-Mac will face Wayne next, while Bloomfield-Honeoye prepares to host Livonia-Avon-Geneseo.

Bloomfield-Honeoye secured a 16-9 victory over Gananda in a Finger Lakes Division I game, led by Brayden Arber’s six goals and John Blair’s eight points. Ethan Stoddard posted a 50% save rate for Bloomfield-Honeoye, while Gananda’s Jase Smith contributed four goals and four assists, supported by goalkeeper Nick Falso’s 60% save rate. Bloomfield-Honeoye capitalized on a strong second-half surge for the win.

Hilton held off a late push from Rush-Henrietta for a 15-13 victory, aided by Drew Brien’s four-goal effort and a strong faceoff performance from Drew O’Buck. Canandaigua edged out Spencerport 13-12 in a hard-fought battle, marking Coach Deven York’s 100th career win. Irondequoit narrowly topped Thomas 9-8 behind Kieran Stenzel’s hat trick. The remaining games saw several dominant performances, including Pittsford extending their undefeated run, McQuaid Jesuit’s commanding win, and Pal-Mac keeping their perfect record intact at 7-0.

Bloomfield-Honeoye defeated East United-Eastridge 15-6, with Brayden Arber leading offensively and Ethan Stoddard delivering a sixty-seven percent save rate. The victory keeps Bloomfield-Honeoye undefeated.

Ethan Stoddard posted a 50 percent save rate in goal, while senior Cody Whittaker achieved his 400th career faceoff win milestone.

Bloomfield-Honeoye defeated Haverling 17-7 in a non-league lacrosse game, led by Brayden Arber`s seven goals and John Blair`s four goals and six assists. Haverling`s Drew Spears scored three times, and McLane Stermole made eleven saves. Ethan Stoddard had seven saves with a 50% save rate for Bloomfield-Honeoye. Several players achieved milestones, including first Varsity goals for Wyatt Hall and eighth-grader Brennan Thomas, and Blair reaching his fiftieth assist.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were 11 games played today and 5 were close ones. Irondequoit defeated Brighton by a score of 8-7. Schroeder was a 7-6 winner over Wayne. Hilton defeated Penfield by a score of 8-6. Geneva defeated Livonia-Avon-Geneseo by a score of 8-7. Gates Chili was a 5-4 winner over Brockport. 

*+Pal-Mac stepped up in the fourth quarter to defeat Livonia-Avon 4-3.  In a game that was plagued with penalties, the teams both had multiple attempts at extra-man offense.  The Red Raiders converted on two of their attempts while the Lakers could not convert on any of their attempts.  The man-down defense for Pal-Mac was a key factor of their win.

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - There were 7 games played today and all of them were won by the high seeded teams except for one. In Class C, Livonia-Avon, HFL, and Geneva will join Pal-Mac who had a bye in the quarters. In Class D, Aquinas, Marcus Whitman, Penn Yan and Mynderse won their games. Marcus Whitman (#5) defeated Bloomfield-Honeoye (#4) 10-6.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were thirteen games played mostly in rain today as the regular season starts to unwind and three were close ones. Penfield was a 9-7 winner over Brighton. Hilton defeated Aquinas by a score of 9-7. Canandaigua defeated Pittsford by a score of 7-5. Pal-Mac defeated Gananda to give the Red Raiders a perfect regular season at 16-0.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were sixteen games played today and one was a close one. Victor defeated Penfield by a score of 6-4. Other winners included Irondequoit over Canandaigua, Schroeder over Greece, and Geneva over Mynderse.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - There were 12 games played today and all of them were won by more than three goals. Pal-Mac and Irondequoit won at home and all the other teams won on the road.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were 12 games played today and a whole bunch of close games under wet and rainy conditions. Livonia-Avon, HFL, Penfield and Victor each won their games by one goal.
