Pittsford Over CA in Close One

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Six games were played today, with two coming down to the wire. Pittsford edged out Canandaigua in a tense 11-10 battle, fueled by Grant Lewis’ four-goal effort and key saves by Bear Wehrheim. Meanwhile, Livonia-Avon-Geneseo survived a back-and-forth showdown against Marcus Whitman, pulling away late for a 15-10 victory. Elsewhere, Spencerport, Gates Chili, and Bloomfield-Honeoye secured decisive wins, with standout performances from Zach Tortora, Jayden Maryjanowski, and Brayden Arber, respectively. 

SPENCERPORT-14 at BROCKPORT-5 - Spencerport earned a 14-5 win over Brockport, with midfielder Zach Tortora leading the way with five goals and one assist. Mason Endres and Gavin Brown added key contributions. Spencerport’s faceoff unit performed well, led by Chase D'Amico's 94% success rate. Sophomore goalie Zach Miceli recorded a 71% save rate in 24 minutes of play. Brockport added five goals but did not submit player statistics.    [ Story and BOX SCORE

LIVONIA-AVON-GENESEO-15 at MARCUS WHITMAN-10 - Livonia-Avon-Geneseo won a back-and-forth game against Marcus Whitman, finishing 15-10. The teams traded leads and tied six times before Livonia-Avon-Geneseo’s third-quarter scoring burst shifted momentum. Will Schweitzer (five goals) and Max McEnerney (four goals) led the scoring effort, while Rider VanZandt excelled at faceoffs. Marcus Whitman’s Ayden Clark netted seven goals in a strong performance. CANANDAIGUA-10 at PITTSFORD-11 - Pittsford won a close 11-10 game against Canandaigua in a non-league match at Sutherland. Grant Lewis led Pittsford with four goals, while Patrick Olvany paced Canandaigua with three. Pittsford’s goalie, Bear Wehrheim, recorded nine saves, while junior Peter Roussell won 14 of 22 faceoffs. GANANDA-12 at GATES CHILI-19 - Gates Chili won 19-12 against Gananda in a non-league matchup. The teams were tied early, but Gates Chili surged ahead in the third quarter. Leading scorers for Gates Chili included Jayden Maryjanowski with six goals and four assists and Michael Alley with six goals and one assist. Gananda’s top players were Jase Smith with five goals and Brody Daciw with two goals and four assists. Gates Chili goalie Demar Williams had eight saves, while Gananda’s Nick Falso recorded 18. BATAVIA-NOTRE DAME-1 at BLOOMFIELD-HONEOYE-19 - Bloomfield-Honeoye earned a 19-1 victory over Batavia-Notre Dame in a non-league matchup. Eleven players scored for the home team, with Brayden Arber leading with four goals and one assist. Goalie Ethan Stoddard made eight saves for an 89 percent save rate. Batavia-Notre Dame’s lone goal was scored by Jon Smith, while goalie Branden Flanagan reached his 400th career save.  [ Story and BOX SCORE
