DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Out of the fourteen games played today, ten were mismatches. The others include a come from behind win for Mynderse in their game with Newark. Pittsford had an 8-2 win over Thomas and Schroeder beat Hilton 10-6. DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Once again, there were many mismatches, but there were also some really good games. In the game of the last two unbeaten teams, Canandaigua (9-0) was the last team standing but the Cougars had a strong second half at both ends of the field. Senior A/M Jett Richardsen scored the overtime, game-winning goal for the Royal Comets in this game that could not have been closer with eight ties. Greece took an early lead and held on for their one goal win.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Although the majority of games ended in mismatches, there were a couple of exciting games. Topping the list is Canandaigua's 4-3 win at Brighton where neither team scored in the second half. Pittsford took an early lead and then never gave it up in the 8-6 win over visiting Irondequoit and Spencerport held Fairport scoreless in two quarters in their 7-3 win at home. Penfield scored four unanswered goals in the first quarter and then coasted to their 11-7 win over visiting Schroeder.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Tere were a dozen games played today and most were mismatches, Canandaigua beat Penn Yan by a single goal and Victor beat Niskayuna 15-7. West Genesee edged out Penfield by one goa (13-12) and Mynderse posted a shutout at Waterloo. Other local winners were Irondequoit, Pal-Mac, Schroeder, Fairport, Geneva, Spencerport, and Marcus Whitman.

Penfield came from behind to win their game with Irondequoit in overtime and Fairport used three goals in the last stanza to defeat West Genesee. Hilton was a winner over visiting Wayne and Schroeder and Pittsford lost to Section III team.

Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: In the first minute of the game Victor scored two goals against Fairport and cruised to a 19-2 win at Fairport in their season opener.  Sam Ricci dominated at the faceoff X, winning 16 of 17 (94%). Marcus Whitman won their first game of the season in a good game with Gananda. A couple of goals before the half was the difference as Livonia-Avon defeated Pal-Mac 8-6. Other winners, most in not so close games were Wayne, Aquinas, Pittsford, Irondequoit and Thomas.

Two Section V teams are moving on to the NYS semifinal games in Cortland on Wednesday. Fairport won their game against Clarence 17-4 and Canandaigua won a close 6-5 game against Hamburg. Penn Yan had a 12-11 loss to Akron and Pal-Mac fell to Lake Shore 10-4.
