Fairport carried the largest roster with forty players and Batavia had the smallest with sixteen. |
# 1447 Penn Yan Falls in State Finals Pleasantville came into the State Final game for the first time in their program history and defeated Penn Yan 16-2. The Panthers have made the State Semi Finals in the past, but this was their first time at the big game. Both teams played a close game for the first quarter before Pleasantville pulled away. The Panthers held the Mustangs scoreless for the final 36 minutes as they slowly added to their offensive count. |

In 2016, they lost to Cold Spring Harbor 15-4. The Mustangs won the State Title in 2001 over Manhassett 9-8. For this year's Tournament, Penn Yan will face Pleasantville, who defeated Mattituck 20-7 in the other Semi Final game. The leading scorer tonight for the Mustangs was Colton Smith, who finished with 1g-4a. Austin Blumbergs finished with 4g and was instrumental at the face-off to give the Mustangs possession through the second half. Overall, Penn Yan won 11 straight face-offs to finish the game. |

Penfield scored two quick goals in the third quarter to tie at 5-5 but eventually fell to Lancaster 11-7. After Geneva posted a 6-2 lead, West Seneca-East rallied for an 8-6 win the Class C. |
# 1435 Penn Yan Wins 23rd Title Penn Yan won their 23rd Section Five Title tonight with an 8-6 win over Aquinas. The Mustangs took an early 6-1 lead and held off the late advances by Aquinas. The Little Irish scored five of the last seven goals to pull within two. The Final Aquinas goal was scored with 7:21 remaining and the final seven minutes were back and forth play with Penn Yan holding the ball and Aquinas trying to force their shots. |

Fairport, for example, played Corning and earned a 75% season with their win. Everyone team that played Fairport this year earned additional points toward seeding with that win. The Tournament seeding was released on Friday night and the games will begin on May 21st. Three hundred and eight games have been played thus far. Seventy out of Section games have been played. Section five teams have won forty-nine (70%). Victor, Thomas, HF-L, Gananda and McQuaid Jesuit ended the season at the top of their leagues. |

Penn Yan used six goals in the fisrt quarter on their way to a victory over Marcus Whitman. Conner Fingar led the Mustang offense with 5g-3a and Austin Blumbergs added 3g-3a. Fairport (11-4) took off in the third quaretr after a 3-1 half and coasted to a 10-4 win over Orchard Park (9-6) of section 6. Spencer Bell scored 3g-1a and Klay Stuver added 3g for the Red Raiders who will finish their season on Friday when they play Corning. Tim Defendis made 9 saves for the Fairport (82%). |
# 1405 Canandaigua Over Hilton, McQ Wins GRALL Title Tuesday: DAY IN REVIEW: With a 13-9 win over Aquinas, McQuaid Jesuit (12-3) won the GRALL Championship tonight. Aquinas took an early lead, but the Knights came back to a 3-3 tie by then end of the first quarter and then never lost the lead. Ryan McEvily led with 4g-1a and Jack Bilitier added 3g. Jon Gaglio made 12 saves for McQuaid Jesuit including 7 in the second Quarter. McQuaid Jesuit ends the regular season with a 12-3 record. |

Sophomore midfielder Klay Stuver led the offense with seven goals and sophomore goalie Tim Defendis recorded eighteen saves (60%). Fairport advances to 7-4 while JD drops top 10-2. |

In a greatly anticipated game this afternoon, the Blue Devils took a four goal lead and never lost it, even though the Tttans scored three goals in the last eight minutes to bring the game within one. Trevor Ford led the Titans with four goals, two of which were scored in the last minute of the game. |
