Wednesday: Churchville-Chili Defeats Thomas

DAY IN REVIEW: In the biggest upset in many years, Churchville-Chili (#10) beat Webster Thomas (#2) 15-14 in a quarter final matchup tonight. Coming into the contest today, Schroder at BrightonThomas had previously defeated Churchville-Chili 20-15 in the second game of the season and had finished the regular season with a 13-3 record.  MORE

The rest of the brackets today ran as seeded, starting with Gananda over Livonia where the game was fairly close, but with the Blue Panthers always in the lead. Eight players made the scorebook and leading the pack was Henry Bush with 3g-1a and Evan Smith winning 17 of 21 draws for Gananda. It was the first meeting of the two teams. Gananda will play Waterloo in the semi finals (Saturday).

Penn Yan held Mynderse to two shots on cage and advanced to play Haverling on Saturday. Austin Blumbergs and Ben Emerson each scored 5g-1a for the Mustangs.

Victor scored the first four goals and never looked back as they defeated Irondequoit. Joey Pezzimenti led the well-rounded scoring list with 3g-1a. The Blue Devils will play Brighton on Saturday (at Penfield).
