DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - All of the quarterfinals in classes B and D were won by the higher seeded team except for # 7 Schroeder who, in a very low scoring close game, defeated #2 Canandaigua and will move on to play Spencerport in the semi-finals on Friday. Victor, who beat C-C will play Irondequoit, who beat Brighton. In Class D, Aquinas beat Haverling and will play Newark who beat Mynderse. Penn Yan beat Bloomfield-Honeoye and will play Marcus Whitman who beat Gananda.

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - There were a couple of interesting results today, starting with an overtime win by Greece over Canandaigua. At Honeoye Falls-Lima, Brighton took a two goal third quarter lead and held on for the 7-4 win. Mynderse had a big win over Batavia-Notre Dame and McQuaid Jesuit had a 10-8 win over St Joes.E].

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - Victor defeated the Canandaigua zone in a game that was highly contested throughout. Haverling won another game, this time against Watkins Glen. Bloomfield-Honeoye defeated Midlakes-Red Jacket as John Blair scored both the tying and the winning goal.

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Canandaigua held Fairport scoreless while scoring three goals in the low scoring game. East United-Eastridge played a close game in the first half but took control in the second half to extend their record to 7-5.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Once again, there were many mismatches, but there were also some really good games. In the game of the last two unbeaten teams, Canandaigua (9-0) was the last team standing but the Cougars had a strong second half at both ends of the field. Senior A/M Jett Richardsen scored the overtime, game-winning goal for the Royal Comets in this game that could not have been closer with eight ties. Greece took an early lead and held on for their one goal win.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There was only one close game out of the twelve played today and Gates Chili used three overtime periods to get their first win of the season, Canandaigua handed Orchard Park their first loss of the season with their 12-6 win. Aquinas was a winner at Schroeder and Marcus Whitman had a win when they played Newark.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Although the majority of games ended in mismatches, there were a couple of exciting games. Topping the list is Canandaigua's 4-3 win at Brighton where neither team scored in the second half. Pittsford took an early lead and then never gave it up in the 8-6 win over visiting Irondequoit and Spencerport held Fairport scoreless in two quarters in their 7-3 win at home. Penfield scored four unanswered goals in the first quarter and then coasted to their 11-7 win over visiting Schroeder.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Canandaigua came from behind and won their game with Irondequoit by a single goal. Waterloo scored three goals in the third to help win their 6-5 game with Midlakes-Red Jacket. Hilton on a winning streak took out Fairport 9-4, and Penn Yan fought off a charge by Geneva in their 7-5 win at home.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Fairport Head Coach Mike Torrelli won his 250th game today as the Red Raiders posted a 7-5 win over visiting Thomas. Brighton won a close one at Irondequoit and East-United won a close one at Brockport. HF-L won a close one at Schroeder and Canandaigua won their game against Spencerport.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Canandaigua traveled to Corning for their 11-6 over Corning (Section IV). At home, Pittsford had a strong second half in a very close game and beat West Genesee (Section III) 7-6. SCORE] 

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Pittsford controlled most of the game, but a last quarter surge by CBA made an exciting finish. Canandaigua opened its 50th season with a win at Geneva and McQuaid won their game against Bellen Jesuit.

The Class B game will feature Garden City vs Canandaigua at 3:00.

Section V sent two teams to the NYS semifinals and Fairport lost to a strong Baldwinsville, and Canandaigua used defense and faceoffs to beat West Genesee and move on to the championship round on Saturday.

In the semifinals, the Class A game will feature Barker (Baldwinsville) vs Fairport at 12:30. In Class B game it is West Genesee vs Canandaigua at 5:30.

Two Section V teams are moving on to the NYS semifinal games in Cortland on Wednesday. Fairport won their game against Clarence 17-4 and Canandaigua won a close 6-5 game against Hamburg. Penn Yan had a 12-11 loss to Akron and Pal-Mac fell to Lake Shore 10-4.

Canandaigua has reached the Sectional Finals eight of the last ten contests, including the last three tournaments that have been held.  The Braves have not won since 2013 with an 11-10 win over Victor in overtime.  Tonight, the Braves added their second win with a 7-3 victory over Irondequoit. 

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Webster Schroeder beat Livonia-Avon and Canandaigua beat Fairport in the two games played today.
