Victor midfielder Andrew Russell announced his intent to study and play at Virginia after his graduation in 2018 December 7, 2014 - Gananda face off specialist, Remmy Glod, recently announced his decision to play at Roberts Wesleyan after his graduation in 2016. December 8, 2014 - Junior attackman Matt Malone, has made his commitment to Le Moyne College (Syracuse) after his graduation from Pittsford in 2016. December 13, 2014 - After spending his eighth grade and freshman year with the Lightning Varsity, current sophomore goalie Gavin Catalano announced this week that he has made a verbal commitment to St. John`s University (New York City) after his graduation from Arcadia in 2017. December 13, 2014 - Another Pittsford junior has made a commitment to study and play at Le Moyne College (Syracuse) after graduation in 2016. Junior defenseman Will Pieterse, has made his commitment recently after considering Hobart, Siena, Mercyhurst and Canisius. Gananda Central senior midfielder, Nick Rapp has announced his decision to attend and play lacrosse for the St. John Fisher Cardinals. Nick has been a Varsity starter for the Panthers since his Freshman year. Last year he recorded 12g-36a and scored in eighteen of the Blue Panther games. The Thunder led 4-3 going into halftime before the Spartans held them scoreless for 28:43 spanning the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters. The Spartans were led in scoring by Joseph O`Hare with 3g. Midfielder Brian May (2g-1a) and Brett Kirkpatrick (1g-1a) also added to the scoring. |

It is an effort by the Lacrosse Committee and the coaches of Section Five to identify some of the top players among the over 1,100 varsity players in the section this year. Nominations for the lists came from Head coaches, administrators and SportsFive personnel. This year 15 players were selected for the first team, 13 players for second team and this year, 12 players on the third team. Our six All Americans automatically make the first team. All players on this list must first be named to their first team All-League teams or be from Independent teams. |
