# 3097 Penfield Wins in Overtime Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: It took overtime for Penfield to defeat The Panthers 12-11 tonight on the road. With Pittsford up 11-7 at the top of the fourth quarter but starting with 5:08 left in the game, Penfield scored four unanswered goals to tie the game at 11-11 with 2:11 left. With 2:04 left in overtime, senior attackman Sam Cummings scored the game-winner with an assist from Jake Fox. Cummings ended the game with 4g and senior midfielder Chris Smith added 3g-2a. John Richiusa gave the Patriots lots of ball time as he won 23/27 faceoffs. Pittsford senior attackman Harrison Cross led scoring with 2g-2a and junior James Cook added 3g for the Panthers (2-2) who will play R-H on Wednesday. The eleventh goal was scored as time expired, and Haverling was in the game until the final seconds. There was standout play by Joey Sciortino (3g) and Zach Kelsey (2g-4a) for the Little Irish and Brady Dickson (3g-1a) and Jamie O`Neil (1g-3a) for the Rams. |

Coach Pat Olbrich has some athletic multi-sport athletes as the core of his team this year and a schedule that will give them lots of opportunities for a great season. |
# 2809 Aquinas Holds off Livonia-Avon in Season Opener After a hard-fought first half, Aquinas pulled ahead in the opening of the third quarter to defeat Livonia-Avon 12-11. The Little Irish scored four unanswered goals to pull ahead from 4-4 to 8-4 in a little less than 3 minutes. They held that lead for most of the third quarter, before Livonia-Avon fought back in the final five minutes of quarter with their own four goal stretch. The game was tied 8-8 with under a minute in the third quarter. Aquinas's Joey Sciortino scored with 0:04 left on the clock to give the Little Irish the 9-8 lead going into the final 12 minutes. After that they held off the Lakers for the victory. |
