SWR defeated Jamesville-DeWitt 12-7 and Victor beat John Jay 9-7. Fairport played a good game against Massapequa, but lost 10-6 and LaFayette/Onondaga won their title in an Overtime match with Briarcliff. |
# 2953 Haller Leads Victor to Fourth State Title Victor won their fourth NYS Finals in five years today with a 9-7 win over John Jay. Blue Devil’s senior goalie Liam Haller was the pillar that lifted them to their Title. He finished with 21 saves (75%) and played one of the best games of his career in today’s matchup. The Indians recorded 39 shots with 28 on cage (72% on cage). Haller often faced not only the primary shot, but secondary shots from the doorstep; he was repeatedly on point and came up with multiple saves that were stellar. Offensively, Jack LaRue (4g) and Camden Hay (3g-1a) led in scoring. For John Jay, Jack Browne played the entire game between the pipes and recorded 2 saves. Offensively, Dean Ford finished with 3g-1a. |

The Golden Bears scored the last two goals to catchup in the final four minutes. The Blue Devils led by eight halfway through the fourth quarter. Leading in scoring for Victor were Camden Hay (3g-4a) and Joey Pezzimenti (2g-3a). For Vestal, senior Matt Thrasher finished with 4g to lead his team. |

# 2927 Victor Wins their Sixth Straight Championship Victor secured their sixth straight Section Five Title with two goals in the final sixty seconds. The Braves had taken a two goals lead with less than six minutes remaining and held on to a one goal lead with 1:00 left on the clock. The Blue Devils never gave up and defeated Canandaigua 7-6 in regulation. The game was a defensive battle with both goalies coming up strong. Canandaigua’s Aiden Kenyon finished with 9 saves (7 in the first half) and Victor’s Liam Haller finished with 14 saves (including 5 in the fourth quarter). Both goalies were named to the All Tournament Team. |

Colin Peers scored his third goal of the afternoon to give the Red Raiders the victory. Over the past eleven years, JD and Fairport have faced off once a year. The Rams were on a five year streak before the Red Raiders defeated them last year 14-12. |
# 2851 Penfield Defense Steps up in Overtime Win Penfield scored four unanswered goals to end the third quarter and begin the fourth quarter in their 7-6 overtime win against Victor. The Patriots were down by three halfway through the third quarter before they began their scoring streak. The fourth goal of the stretch gave Penfield the lead with 3:07 left on the clock and forced Victor to send the game into overtime. In the first overtime period, Victor won the face-off, but could not get a shot on cage before Penfield cleared the ball upfield and scored on their first shot. Max Hoadley scored his second goal of the game unassisted to give the win to the Patriots. |

After leading for the majority of three quarters, RH had to fight back in the final five minutes to defeat Livonia-Avon 10-9. # 1449 Victor Falls to Garden City Garden City returned to the State Finals for the first time since 2013 when they won the Title game over Jamesville-Dewitt 13-8. Today they defeated the three-time defending State Champion Victor Blue Devils. The Trojans came to win and took and early 3-1 lead that they never quite gave back. The first and fourth quarters were a flurry of activity while the middle two quarters showed a lot of testing from both teams. The Trojans were led in offensive by junior James Basile (3g) and Liam Muldoon (2g-1a). Basile’s final goal was the winning goal that was scored with 0:01 remaining on the clock. |

# 1434 Victor Wins in Overtime Alexander Mabbett scored off a feed from Joey Pezzimenti 1:59 into the second overtime period to give Victor the 10-9 win over Webster Thomas. This is the fifth consecutive win for the Blue Devils. Victor started off the game strong and took an early 5-2 in the second quarter. They continued to put up points and increased their lead to 7-3 with 9:50 remaining in the third quarter. After that Thomas put on the back-burners. They scored four straight goals before Victor added their 8th. The Titans continued to push all the way through the fourth and into the two overtime periods. Both teams had shots at the cage in overtime and it was edge of your seat lacrosse for both periods. |

This is the third overtime game of the season for the Eagles (and the first that they have lost). Trevor Ford led the Titans with four goals, two of which were scored in the last minute of the game. |

The Blue Devils held Brighton scoreless for 19 minutes spanning the entire third quarter. Victor advances to the finals for the fifth consecutive time (three time defending Champion). |
