Hay backed into a double and then dropped the ball overtop of the defender to Alec Russell. Brighton came back with two goals before the end of the half. Their offense took two shots that were both saved by Brighton goalie Alexander Butcher. Butcher finished the game with 13 saves. The Blue Devils held possession for the next few minutes, both taking time off the clock and occasionally taking shots at the cage. They capped the possession with a goal from Russell unassisted with 4:34 left on the clock. Victor held the 8-5 lead after three quarters.

The Blue Devils won the next face-off and called a timeout. They took control on their offensive side with 0:50 left on the clock. Instead of running out the clock, Pezzimenti scored into an open net to go back up by two.
