Fairport Hands JD Their First Loss
Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Fairport defeated Jamesville-DeWitt for the second straight season with a 10-9 win in the first overtime period. Colin Peers scored his third goal of the afternoon to give the Red Raiders the victory. Over the past eleven years, JD and Fairport have faced off once a year. The Rams were on a five year streak before the Red Raiders defeated them last year 14-12. STORY CONTINUES
Junior attackman Brennan Bitely only scored one goal for Schroeder in their 11-10 overtime game with St. Francis (Buffalo), but it was the most, important, game-winning one. Junior goalie Evan Alfano, who ended the game with 14 saves (58%) made two big saves in the overtime period.
Pal-Mac scored four goals in the last quarter and held the Saints scoreless as they won 14-13 on the road. Grady Arnold scored five goals and Jake Gallina added two goals and five assists for the Red Raiders. It was the first meeting of the two teams. There was no report from C-C at post time.
Canandaigua strung together six goals in both the second and third quarters on their way to a 15-4 win against visiting Orchard Park (9-2). Mark Belles had 3g-3a and Mitch Pfeiffer added 1g-4a and six others made the offensive book for the Braves.
With even scoring throughout the game Victor handed Fayetteville-Manlius (Section III) their second loss of the season, winning 13-4 at home. The Blue Devil defense held the Hornets to a single goal in the first three quarters. Nine players made the offensive book, led by Joey Pezzimenti *4g-3a), and Camden Hay (4g-1a). Liam Haller made ten saves (91%) and Regan Endres won twelve of eighteen faceoffs for the Blue Devils (10-3).
Also winning today were Livonia-Avon, Greece Storm, East United, Hilton and Brockport. Aquinas lost to Canisius and McQuaid Jesuit lost to St. Joe's (Buffalo).
