Class B - Monroe County League

Last year Victor was 13-2 for new Head Coach Dan Stone with their only losses to Canandaigua (5-7) during the regular season and Thomas in the semifinals (7-10).

There were four classes for the sectional tournaments. Two of the four top seeded won their championships. Fairport (#1) beat Pittsford (#3) 6-5 in overtime in Class A. In Class B, Thomas (#3) defeated Canandaigua (#1) 6-5 and in Class C, HF-L (#3) defeated Livonia-Avon (#1) 19-10. In Class D, Penn Yan (#1) won their twenty-fifth sectional title with a 16-2 win against Pal-Mac (#3).

Sam Bennett (Canandaigua), senior midfielder/FO Logan Callahan (Victor), senior midfielder/attackman Cal Lambert (Victor), junior defenseman Eric Platten (Canandaigua) and senior goalie Ethan Ruller (Thomas) were named USA Lacrosse All Americans from Monroe County.

The Head Coaches of Section V recently considered players who had been nominated for All-American and All-Academic awards.

Wednesday: DAY IN REVIEW: The quarter finals were played today, and there were fourteen winners and fourteen teams that ended their seasons. Following the season trend, almost all were mismatches with only the Irondequoit at Thomas game close, for most of the game. As expected, all the higher seeded teams won today and the top four seeded teams are now set for the semifinals.

Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: Two games were played on Memorial Day. Penfield and Canandaigua were the winners.

Friday: DAY IN REVIEW: In another exciting game, Victor beat Thomas with three goals in the last quarter to remain undefeated with the 9-6 victory at home. Pittsford beat Irondequoit 8-6 with four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter. Four extra goals in the first quarter gave HF-L the win over Rush-Henrietta.Pittsford at post time. [BOX SCORE]

Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Connors and Ferris law firm are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season. For "Group 3" we have four players who had standout performances in since the last set of awards.

Wednesday: DAY IN REVIEW: Updated: There were nine games played today and although there were close moments, in the end the scores were not close. Honeoye Falls-Lima won their game against Churchville-Chili 12-6. Colt Green had 5g-1a and Matt Blythe had 2g-2a. the Spartans. [BOX SCORE]

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: After three lead changes, Gates Chili came alive after halftime and scored four third quarter goals to cement their 12-9 win at Brockport.

Wednesday: DAY IN REVIEW: Senior faceoff specialist Logan Callahan gave Victor a big advantage in ball time as he won 14/18 draws to help the Blue Devils beat Fairport 10-6 this afternoon. Callahan, who in three games this season has won 58/66 (88%) faceoffs also scored 2g-1a. The game started even, with three ties before Victor took a lead at 4-3 and did not let go. Senior M/A Cal Lambert led the scoring for the Blue Devils with 3g-2a. Senior midfielder Alex Seiler added 2g-1 and five other players scored one goal. Fairport sophomore A/M Jackson Monte led in scoring for the Red Raiders with 2g-1a. Fairport (2-2) will play Penfield on Friday while Victor (3-0) is playing Irondequoit. Victor was ready in 2020 to seek it's seventh straight Section V championship and had the players to help make that happen, but gone are Camden Hay (Albany), Shea Newell (Mercyhurst), Joey Pezzimenti (Albany), Alec Russell (Le Moyne), Regan Endres (Albany), Cameron Gormain (St. Bonaventure), and Ethan Roberts (Seton Hill) who are all playing in college now along twenty-one other Victor alumni.

A three-sport athlete, Victor junior midfielder Cal Lambert has announced his commitment to attend the US Millitary Academy at West Point after his graduation in 2021. "Cal knew early on that West Point was a perfect fit. Cal is ready to serve his country and test himself at the highest level." says Head Coach Jim Andre.

Under Armour recently announced their rosters for the 13th Annual All-American game in July. Named to the "South team" were defenseman Tanner Hay and goalie Chayse Ierlan, both from Victor.
