The Rochester city schools combined to form East United. With the changes and combinations, there were thirty-five teams and 942 players. Fairport carried the largest roster with forty players and Batavia had the smallest with sixteen. |

Fairport was a 14-12 winner over Jamesville-DeWitt (Section 3). The Red Raiders led 10-6 at the half. Sophomore midfielder Klay Stuver led the offense with seven goals and sophomore goalie Tim Defendis recorded eighteen saves (60%). Fairport advances to 7-4 while JD drops top 10-2. |
# 1388 Weise Scores in Overtime to Lift Gananda Gananda’s John Weise scored the game winning goal during the first overtime period. The Blue Panthers defeated Wayne 9-8 after scoring four of the last five goals. Gananda opened up the game with the first two goals. Evan Smith scored off a feed from Jake Rapp followed by Rapp scoring off a feed from Weise. Wayne responded with five unanswered goals to go up 5-2 with 2:23 remaining in the half. Brett Cunningham scored the final goal of the half to put the Blue Panthers within two goals. |

# 1372 Greece Ends Gananda Streak Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: On one of the warmest days of the season thus far, there were three games played today. Pittsford improved their record to 4-4 with a 15-7 win against Lancaster (Section 6). Senior attackman John Mozrall led the Panther offense with 5g and sophomore faceoff middie Dan Maggio won eleven of sixteen draws and led the team in ground balls with six. The Greece Storm ended the Gananda's undefeated record with an 11-8 win at home. |
# 1371 Week in Review: Week 4 There were finally a couple of days with sunshine last week . One hundred and thirty-five games have been played thus far. With Victor's loss to an impressive Loyola Academy, there are now two teams that are still undefeated with Webster Thomas (8-0) in the lead and Gananda in at 6-0, Thirty-four (of seventy-four out of Section games scheduled) have been played. Section five teams have won twenty (59%). Victor, Thomas, HFL, Gananda and McQuaid Jesuit are each at the top of their leagues with undefeated league records. |

The Blue Panthers won their second one goal game in a row to remain undefeated at 6-0. Face off midfielder Evan Smith finished 11/20, including a key win late to keep the ball out of the Red Raiders hands. |

Penn Yan won in double overtime with a goal by Colton Smith. Gananda won an exciting 11-10 victory over Pal-Mac as the combination of seniors Brett Cunningham and Henry Bush combined for seven goals which proved to be the difference. Spencerport and Schroeder had two ties before the Warriors scored two goals in the last quarter for a 6-4 win. |

Pittsford fended off a last minute barrage from Fairport, Brighton saw a goal from Lukas Stanat (5g) to break their tie with Hilton and Cullen Coons scored his third goal of the game in the first overtime period to give Livonia-Avon the 17-16 win over Marcus Whitman. |

Jack Bilitier led the Knights with 6g-1a while Jon added 4g-1 in the win. |
# 1251 Saturday: Championship Matchups are Finalized The 2017 championship matchups are now set after the semi finals in the Class B and Class D tournaments. The only "bracket brake" was Waterloo`s (#4) victory over top seeded Gananda in the Class D semifinals. Top seeded Victor won their contest with Brighton and Canandaigua (#3) beat Churchville-Chili. Penn Yan avenged their regular season lost of Haverling to make it to the finals where they will face Waterloo. |
# 1235 Finnegan Leads Gananda to Victory Gananda took over the lead in the second quarter and never let go. The Blue Panthers defeated Gates Chili 16-14. It was senior night at Gananda, the first three goals were all scored by seniors. Alex Buchko scored the opening goal 0:52 into the game with Jacob Thomas and Ryan Finnegan adding the next two. |
# 1219 Wayne Wins on Cradle for a Cure Night Wayne hosted their fifth annual “Cradle for a Cure” event today and defeated Gananda 23-5. The “Cradle for a Cure” event began five years ago as a fundraising/awareness event after a local lacrosse player received a cancer diagnosis. Every year since, Wayne has hosted a multigame event with boys and girls lax with the hope of donating to both local charities and a local family in need of assistance. Earlier in the evening in the girls’ contest, Waterloo defeated Wayne 17-9 (HERE). |

Freshman attackman Joey Pezzimenti led the scoring with 4g-1a. Chayse Ierlan made 13s (87%) in 38 minutes for Victor. Nick Mabe scored 2g for Thomas. |

The Blue Panthers scored the first goal and led throughout with only a single tie in the third quarter. Gananda has defeated Midlakes all 10 times that the teams have face.
