Pittsford Coach Whipple Wins 250th

Pittsford defeated Brighton 7-2 in the Section 5 quarterfinals, pulling ahead with a strong third quarter. Cole Goetz led Pittsford with three goals, while goalie Bear Wehrheim recorded ten saves and reached his 100th career save. Brighton’s offense came from Miles McGuire and Ben Marangola, and goalie Logan Serve made fourteen saves. Pittsford coach Andrew Whipple earned his 250th career win as the team moves on to face Victor in the semifinals on Saturday at Wayne High School.

Round 1: Brighton Over C-C

Brighton earned a 15-5 win over Churchville-Chili in a non-league game, with eight players contributing to the scoring. Leading the charge were Miles McGuire, Gavin Parks, and Tim Tourangeau, each with 3 goals. Logan Serve made 7 saves with a 78% save percentage. Churchville-Chili’s Brayden Hoak scored 2 goals, and sophomore Aiden DeYager recorded his first Varsity goal. Kaiden Leiston made 5 saves with a 56% save percentage. Brighton extended their winning streak to 10 games and will face third-seeded Pittsford in the quarterfinals.
