Pittsford secured a 7-2 victory over Brighton in the Section 5 quarterfinals tonight at Sutherland. Brighton took the lead with one goal in the first quarter, but Pittsford responded in the second and surged ahead in the third with four goals. Pittsford added two more in the fourth to close out the win. Cole Goetz led the offense with three goals, while Grant Lewis and Avery Valenti each contributed one goal and one assist. Brady Goetz had two assists, and additional goals came from Dane Lewis and Jahyden Maiorani.

Brighton's scoring came from Miles McGuire and Ben Marangola, with Kiki Condon recording an assist. Eighth-grade goalie Bear Wehrheim helped anchor Pittsford’s defense, finishing with ten saves and an 83% save rate, marking his 100th career save. Brighton’s goalie, junior Logan Serve, made fourteen saves with a 67% save rate. Pittsford’s win also marked head coach Andrew Whipple’s 250th career victory.    [ Story and BOX SCORE]
