Saturday: J-D, Penn Yan, R-H and Schroeder Among the Winners
Jamesville-DeWitt beat Fairport 17-9 and Penn Yan beat Penfield 11-1. Rush-Henrietta defeated Lancaster of Section 6 and Webster Schroeder beat Spencerport 17-16. Marcus Whitman defeated Newark 11-7 and Gananda took Wayne 12-8. Other winners were Arc/Oly, Waterloo, Pal-Mac, Livonia, Hilton, HF-L, Geneva and Pittsford.

-- Gananda scored the first five goals to secure their 12-8 win over Wayne. The Blue Panthers held the Screaming Eagles scoreless for the first 14:56 while racking up five goals of their own. Leading in scoring for Gananda were Zach Rink (3g-2a) and Kyler Friesner (3g-1a). The remaining three quarters saw back and forth play. Wayne brought the game within 2 goals late in the second quarter and within three goals three different times. Chris Ecker, Trent Wyland and Salvatore Desiato each scored two goals for Wayne. In the cage for Gananda, Brandon Smith finished at 50% with 8 saves. For Wayne defenseman Dylan Joy led his team in ground balls with 13.

-- Marcus Whitman scored six of the last seven goals to defeat Newark 11-7. The contest was close for the first three quarters with both teams leading at different times. Leading in scoring for Whitman was Connor Kelly with 6 goals. Midfielder Karl Gray finished with 3g-1a. For Newark, Cameron Casselman finished with three goals.
The Wildcats scored the opening goal with an unassisted drive from Gray 1:20 into the first quarter. Six minutes later, Teddy Collins scored for the Reds to tie the game. Kelly's first goal for Marcus Whitman was scored unassisted on a man-up play. Less than 30 second later and Da'Ron Thurston scored to tie the game for the second time. Thurston's goal was also scored during extra-man offense. Gray scored the next two goals to give the Wildcats their largest lead of the game. With 1:42 remaining, Casselman scored for the Reds. The final goal of the quarter was also scored by Kelly and gave the Wildcats the 5-3 lead going into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Newark scored the only goal with Casselman scoring unassisted. In the third quarter, the opening goal was scored by Evan Vasquez with an assist from Andrew Garrett. Casselman scored unassisted again to give Newark their first lead since the first quarter. Four minutes later, Whitman tied the game with goalie Merritt Bailey assisting Kelly for his third goal. The game was tied going into the final quarter.
Marcus Whitman scored the first five goals of the quarter to secure their win. The Reds scored the final goal of the game. Dylan Yatteau scored it with an assist from Kyle Power. In the cage for Marcus Whitman, Bailey finished with 13 saves (65%). Leading the ground ball count was Gray with seven. Tyler Dancause and Lukas Brassi finished with five ground balls each. For Newark, Cody Cornelius finished with seven saves.
