Wednesday Gananda Beats Bloomfield-Honeoye

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - There were two games played today. Loyola Academy was at McQuaid Jesuit where they defeated the Knights 5-3. In the Finger Lakes, Gananda traveled to Bloomfield where they defeated the Pride 12-8.

Gananda at Bloomfield-HoneoyeGANANDA-12 at BLOOMFIELD-HONEOYE-8 - In this close game with four ties the Pride scored two goals and then The Panthers scored two goals. They followed this pattern three times into the third quarter where Gananda scored four in a row (twice). Both Head Coaches are new to their teams this year. The new coach at Bloomfield-Honeoye is Joe Sidari who last year was the Head Coach at Gananda. Rich Michaels is the head Coach for the Pride.

Gananda Senior attackman Drew Smith reached his 100th goal in the game with his 4 goals (103g). Also scoring for Gananda (1-2) were Jacob Michaels (5g-1a) and Isaiah Espaillat (2g). In the goal for Gananda was freshman Nick Falso with 10s/8ga = 56% (48 mins). The Blue Panthers will host Brockport on Thursday. 

Leading the scoring for Bloomfield-Honeoye (0-1) were junior attackman Jonathan Nelson (2g-2a), sophomore attackman John Blair (1g-2a), junior attackman Liam Roach (2g-1a), and senior midfielder Luke Armstrong (1g-1a). The Pride will host Marcus Whitman on Saturday.  [ BOX SCORE

Gananda at Bloomfield-HoneoyeLOYOLA ACADEMY-5 at MCQUAID JESUIT-3 - It was a defensive game as the Ramblers came to town and held the Knights to single goals in the first, second and fourth quarters. Although McQuaid held Loyola scoreless in the second half, the five goals they scored in the first half was enough. McQuaid junior goalie Will Gordon recorded his 200th save with his five saves (201svs) in the game.

Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit (3-1) were AJ Quagrello (1g-1a), John Harding (1g), and junior defenseman Brenton Paladino (1g). Facing off for McQuaid Jesuit was freshman Domenic Giangreco with 9+/3- = 75%.  There was no information available for Loyola Academy (4-0) at post-time.  The Ramblers will continue their spring trip with a game against Ithaca on Friday and a game at Corning on Saturday.  [ BOX SCORE]   - - More images in the photo gallery.
