HFL Builds Early Lead, Tops Haverling
HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-15 at HAVERLING-4 - Honeoye Falls-Lima scored five goals in each of the first three quarters Friday evening to build a commanding
lead and go on to a 15-4 non-league win over Haverling. The visiting Cougars kept Haverling scoreless in the third quarter to put the game away and moved to 2-0 on the season. The win extends Honeoye Falls-Lima's series advantage over Haverling to four wins against one dating back to 2016.
Honeoye Falls-Lima saw big nights from several players. Senior Marco Vengoechea and junior Cash Arena each scored four goals, with Vengoechea adding one assist. Senior Jackson Coon contributed three goals and two assists, and sophomore Ben Segar ran the offense with one goal and six assists. Junior Tanner Olin added two goals and one assist, and Austin Schor rounded out the scoring with one goal. Senior Alexander Meisenzahl picked up his first varsity assist in the win.
For Haverling (1-2), four players shared the scoring. Junior Noah Schneider and senior Zach Colegrove each posted one goal and one assist, while sophomore Caden Fairbrother and senior Drew Spears each added one goal. Freshman Mason Calkins won 12 of 22 face-offs for a 55% rate at the dot.
Haverling travels to East United-Eastridge on a Tuesday evening next week, while Honeoye Falls-Lima hosts Wayne that same Tuesday evening. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
