Saturday - Three More One-Goal Games

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - There were three more games won by one goal today in the semi final round.

Irondequoit at  PenfieldLIVONIA-AVON 15  - AQUINAS 14  - SEMI - Although Aquinas had the lead several times, a six goal surge in the last quarter gave the Lakers the one goal they needed to punch their ticket to the Championship round. Shane Malead (2g) scored what became the winning goal with just under two minutes left the regulation. Jackson McEnerney scored 5g-2a and Justin Skelly had 3g-1a for the Lakers (13-3) who will play Penn Yan on Tuesday. Gio Valerie led the scoring for AQ with 6g-1a. Tano Auriuso had 1g-6a and Noah Olbrich had 3g-2a for Aquinas.   [BOX SCORE]

VICTOR 5  - CANANDAIGUA 6  - SEMI - As two of the best faceoff specialists started this game, they both made their statements. Canandaigua`s Luke McCrobie won the first faceoff and ran down to score at 11:08. On the next faceoff Victor`s Sam Ricci won the draw and ran down to score at 10:59. Canandaigua then went on a four-goal streak and led 5-1 at the end of the first quarter. The next four goals were scored by Victor leading to a 5-5 tie with 10:42 in the fourth quarter. Senior midfielder scored the winning goal for Canandaigua with 9:45 left the game. Irondequoit at  PenfieldAlthough there were a number of tense moments for both teams, the Braves held on of the win. Thomas Gravino, Liam Wheeler had 2g and Sam Ricci had 1g for Victor who end their season at 17-1. Elliot Morgan had 2g-1a, and Luke McCrobie had 2g for the Braves and Jack Faiola made 6s (55%). And the faceoff stats... McCrobie had 8 and Ricci had 7. Canandaigua will play Irondequoit for the Championship on Wednesday.   [BOX SCORE]       - - More images in the photo gallery.

IRONDEQUOIT 11  - Thomas 10 OT - SEMI - This was a close game that was tied four times before being settled in overtime where Irondequoit junior midfielder scored the winning goal. The Eagles took the early lead with the first two goals, but Thomas came back with three. Before the first quarter was done, Irondequoit retook the lead and it was 4-3. The first four goals of the second quarter were by Thomas and after a single goal by the Eagles the Irondequoit at  PenfieldTitans were ahead 7-5 at the half. As the game progressed Thomas took their biggest lead at 10-6, but Irondequoit scored five unanswered goals for the win. Jonah Carrier won 17 of 23 faceoffs for the Eagles and Cooper Moore led the scoring with 3g-1a. Andre Bigham, Dan Buckley and Noah Gibson each added 2g for Irondequoit who will play Canandaigua on Wednesday. Evan Pashalidis and Chase Gottstein both scored 2g-1a for the Titans who finish their season at 12-6.   [BOX SCORE]       - - More images in the photo gallery.

PENN YAN 12  - Marcus Whitman 4  - SEMI - The Mustangs went quickly to work and led at the half 10-1. Carter Earl had 4g and Braden Fingar and Bryant VanHousen both scored 2g-2a and goalie Griffin Emerson made 10s (71%). Penn Yan will play Livonia-Avon in finals on Tuesday.
