Monday - First Day of Sectionals

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - The Section V tournaments started today with out bracket games for classes B and D. The tenth seed, Brighton used overtime to advance past #7 Gates Chili.

Irondequoit at  PenfieldCHURCHVILLE-CHILI 9  - BRIGHTON 10 OT - OB - Junior attackman Jett Richardsen scored the winning goal in overtime as #10 seeded Brighton took out #7 seeded Churchville Chili as the only under seed to win today. The overtime was created after senior attackman TJ Carl scored a goal with an assist from sophomore attackman Aksel Stanat with 1:14  left. He then created a tie with an unassisted goal with 0:30 left in regulation. Call Oberst led the scoring with 3g-2a. Brighton (4-12) will play second seeded Irondequoit on Wednesday. The Saints saw 4g from Colin Duncan and 2g-2a from Brock Osborne and finish the season at 10-7.   [BOX SCORE]

Irondequoit at  PenfieldSCHROEDER 17  - GATES CHILI 3 - OB - The Warriors had a 10-2 lead at the half. Eight players made the offensive book for Schroeder, led by Nick Hauman with 5g-4a and Nate Schilling with 2g-5a. Nick Tumminelli won 20 of 21 faceoffs for Schroeder  who will play Victor on Wednesday. Jake Rogers had 1g-1a and Nate Weise was credited with 18s (51%) for the Spartans who finish at 7-10.    [BOX SCORE]         - - More images in the photo gallery

WATERLOO 15  - BLOOMFIELD-HONEOYE 2 - OB -Peter Shangraw had 7s and Jordan Kraft had 3g-4a for Waterloo. Goalie Raymond Jones made 6s (75%). JD Allen had 1g-1a for the Pride. Waterloo will face top seeded Livonia-Avon on Wednesday.    [BOX SCORE] 

GANANDA 15  - MIDLAKES-RED JACKET 5 - OB -Brock Chasey had 7g-2a and Drew Smith had 5g-1 for the Blue Panthers. Giorgio Catanzaro had 7s (58%) for Gananda who will play Penn Yan on Wednesday. There was no report from Midlakes-Red Jacket at post time.    [BOX SCORE]
